We had a little scare....

Mommy2BAK wrote: We went out of town this weekend to Texarkana, TX to visit our families, and while we were there Saturday I started having really bad cramping and bleeding, so I called back home to my doctor's office and left a message for the doctor (which by the way I NEVER got a call back ) So we called my grandma's family doctor and he said to go ahead to the local emergency room. After agonizing over a possible miscarriage for 3 hours in the waiting room of the ER they took us back and discovered that I just had a severe UTI (urinary tract infection). THANK GOD! A few good things came out of the ER visit though, I was able to get some antibiotics (which are working, thankfully!) and I got to hear the babies heartbeat for the first time, I SAW it on an ultrasound but hadn't got to hear it yet, so that was nice.

I think I would call the dr or ask the next time you go in, why you never got a call back, and what you are to do when you are out of town...

we are only 2 weeks apart..but I bet I dont make it to the due date.

Mommy2BAK replied: Thanks guys. I go back for a prenatal visit Thursday and you better believe I'm giong to raise cane about them not returning my call!! It wasn't my doctor on call but still, and I'm even wondering if the "nurse" gave him my message because I called and explained the situation to her and said "I'm out of town so do you think i should just go to the local ER?" and she said in a snotty voice "All I can do for you is have the doctor call you when he gets a chance"

TANNER'S MOM replied: Wow I am mad at your doctor. They are suppose to be on call 24/7 in case of an emergency and that was an emergency. I am glad it all turned out okay. I am sorry about the UTI but glad the little bumpkin is fine and your heard the heart beat. It's a wonderful sound.

I'd be so mad at the doctor/nurse. What if it had been something serious. Thankfully it wasn't. Even though it sounds like it must have been pretty painful. Glad your feeling better!
