Maddie&EthansMom replied: We had a really nice wedding if I do say so myself. It was raining and snowing, but it was DECEMBER 20th....that was to be expected. The worst thing that happened was not being able to get the candles lit. No big deal, really.
It wasn't the biggest wedding either. Our reception was at the church and it was small.
5littleladies replied: Ours wasn't bad. I was young and of course now wish I had done some things differently, but all in all it was pretty nice. It was bright and sunny with fresh snow (December) on the ground so for the time of the year the weather was beautiful. The worst thing that happened was when we were lighting our unity candles, mine fell off of the holder and into the greenery and I thought for a minute that the thing was going to catch fire.
My2Beauties replied: The worst thing that happend at mine was I forgot the candle lighters so the minister left Brian standing on the pulpit by himself to go to the guests and find some lighters to light the candles with! LOL! Other than that it went ok! Oh yeah and Hanna would absolutely not let Desiree put her down for anything and she kept screaming mama and dada then when we wouldn't hold her she started to cry so someone had to take her out of the church! I was upset that someone had to miss the wedding to take her out, but I just had a feeling by the way she was acting that whole entire weekend that she wasn't going to cooperate! What was I to expect, an 18 month old at awedding! Yah right!
mckayleesmom replied: Well lets see.....I had morning sickness (found out I was preggo a week before leaving for Las Vegas...I think I immediately started barfing after the test turned positive..lol)....My grandma, sister, and cousin were late..so we waited. My sister didn't show up on time to do my hair..so I did it myself ...and it looked like crap...you could sooo totally tell I was not feeling good in our wedding pics. The lady who coordinated the wedding stuff practically pushed me down the isle ..she was hurrying me and I didn't have time to spit out my gum that was keeping me from puking all over the floor. We couldn't get the unity candle lit...lol. I had to nudge dh to say I do...He zoned out. LOL....Me and dh were giggling cause the minister sounded like he was conducting a funeral..not a weddiing. LOL...it was just a funny day. Then we gambled all week. WOOO HOOOO!!
ZandersMama replied: It poured down rain all day. When I called hubby about some last min details one of his charming relatives told me he left the night before and they hadn't seen him. Another charming relative wrote help me in white paint on the bottem of his shoes so when we kneeled down, everyone in the church saw it. It was thundering out when we left the church. LOL. We were so stressed out, but then we got to the receptin and had a couple drinks everything was better.
lisar replied: Well I wasnt nervous at all. UNTILL I started to walk down the aisle. When I got to my husband at the end of the aisle we walked up the steps together and turned to face each other and then i felt like I was going to fall on my face. I was holding his hands so tight so that he would hold me up and hoping that no one noticed. And no one did thank fully. But other than that my day went fine. We thought about having an outside wedding thankfully we didnt cause the day of my wedding was the day one of the hurricanes was moving in last year. I live in Florida. The weather changes every five minutes.

A&A'smommy replied: my wedding day was perfect it was warm and windy there were a few clouds to keep us from being to hot and when we were saying our vows my grandmother (and a few seperate others) told me they saw doves fly over our wedding was really small there was like a hundred people there. We had the reception at the church and it was really pretty too... the only thing was I didn't fix my make up after crying my eyes out so in some of my pictures you can tell I didn't have any make-up on and my eyes were a little red but I think that just adds character to them.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Well, the day kind of got off to a rough start - I got to the church with my bridesmaids and everyone was crabby because DH had the key to the church and he was late. I had a terrible cold that made me sound like I smoked about 10 packs a day so I was really self concious about that every time I had to talk to anyone plus my head was pounding AND I had AF. My sister, who was also my matron of honor, was super crabby and bossing everyone around, and my brother who was taking the pictures was also really crabby - I think the pics turned out awful because I was so stressed out about how cranky he was. My dh's aunt ruined our cake (it was hideous), and I forgot to get pictures taken with Jen who was my personal attendant and her brother who was my piano player. Our wedding night was nice despite the fact AF was still hanging around ~ we sat on the bed and ate pizza and watched a movie. But I woke up in the middle of the night with a migraine and bawled my eyes out over that stupid cake. But despite all of that, it was a pretty nice day. My flowers were so pretty, the dresses were beautiful and the whole experience was lots of fun, plus when it was all over I was married to my wonderful Dh. We had a really short but sweet honeymoon on the North Shore of Lake Superior - it was gorgeous. It was too cold to go out and do anything and I was still sick so we just stayed in and played games and talked and stuff.
Mommy2BAK replied: The only bad thing that happened at my wedding was that the photographer got into a wreck on the way and was an hour late
paradisemommy replied: well we had (in my eyes) the perfect beach wedding - it was SUPER small - only had maybe a dozen people and it was all his family (mine are all in washington state and tampa)..my only complaint was that it was super super windy and the minister we got was really hoaky and could tell it was geared more toward the tourists..but right after, the limo took us to the airport (course we had to bless the limo) and then we took off for kauai for 2 nights..it was so awesome and quiet and romantic...
ions_momma replied: Our wedding was great and nothing really went wrong. The only thing was that the flower girl, which was my niece, got really shy and didnt want to walk down the aisle by herself and she wanted my mom (her grandma) to walk with her. Somehow they convinced her to walk down the aisle and she did great!
Cary Lynn replied: The Embarrassing/horrible thing that happened to us. Was my mom Got us a limo(it was a surprise or so she thought) but got it so that it would be there while the wedding was going on(dumb) it was 88 degrees out and it felt like it was 95. SO the guy had the limo running the whole time. So when we got in it, it overheated and Stalled on a busy road. That and we were only given 45 minutes to ride in it, so that meant we had to get somone elses car so we didn't get to the reception too early...ugh.
mckayleesmom replied: that sucks
dolfinrse replied: We got married in January 2002, and my dad was in the military. He had to deploy overseas the day after my wedding, (he was actually supposed to go earlier, but had an understanding superior that allowed him to stay for my wedding). It started flurrying mid-morning, but everyone made it to the church and the reception safely. By the time the reception was over it was a huge snowstorm, at least it made for some beautiful pictures.
Also, weeks leading up to the wedding, dh was telling everyone that he was going to smash the whole cake on me (joking around of course). His grandmother believed him, but him and I secretly had a deal that what one did the other would do too. So I fed him first and did it nice and easy, well, out of nowhere his grandmother comes flying onto the dance floor takes the rest of the piece of cake out of my hand and smashes it all over him. I was so surprised that I didn't know what to do. At the time, I had to laugh about it, but afterwards and now when I think about it, it really annoys me.
mckayleesmom replied: Is grandma senial?...LOL
SOUTHERN MOMMY replied: thanks everyone for sharing
mammag replied: I missed this post before.....
When I think back now, I think of only the good things about my wedding and it was actually pretty nice for our limited funds.
We had it at the place where I first kissed dh so we got to re-enact the kiss.
The bad....... I was a complete idiot and went to get my hair CUT the day of my wedding. This was during the time that Melrose place was a big show and I told the guy I wanted it like Josie Bissets hair (I already had short hair at the time). Well, I don't know what he was think but I ended up with hair that was all of an inch and a half long. It was soooooo bad! I was so upset that I was having awful stomach pains as I was trying to get dressed for the wedding. I was laying on the floor in the changing room with my feet up on a bench and looked over and saw a dead cockroach! That got me up real quick!
The worst part was that my parents weren't there. They only lived 5 minutes away from where we got married but wouldn't go because he wasn't drinking at the time and he "can't be around people without drinking" so he wouldn't go. That was really upsetting but my brother walked me down the aisle so it was still wonderful!
The funny, Chris got sooooooo drunk at the reception that I had to drive us to the hotel. There was a nice man taking us up to the room and he kept telling him what a wonderful man he was and that he would remember him for the rest of his life!!!
The next morning he was so sick that he got his plate of breakfast and couldn't eat it so I ate breakfast alone. He was going up the elevator which was clear glass and I don't know if he didn't have the key or what, I forget, but he kept going up and down and I was cracking up laughing sitting there watching him while I had two plates of food. People were looking at me like I was a nutcase!
It was a fun time!!!
