Well, I'm doing it! - I'm going back to work

stella6979 wrote: After enjoying a year off, I've decided to go back to work. I honestly don't know how you SAHM's do it as there are days where I feel like I'm going to lose it! Don't get me wrong, I love my baby girl and I love spending time with her, but I just can't do it anymore. Plus, I think it will be good for her to be with other kids and she'll only go 3 days a week and my Mom will have her the other 2 so we won't have to spend a ton on daycare. We went to check it out yesterday and Avery was in heaven! She didn't want to leave and now keeps asking me when she can go back to "school". I'm so nervous about this and have already cried and cried about it (yes, I'm a huge muffin), but I think it's something we both need.

Danalana replied: Sounds like you are doing what is best for both of you right now! I'm glad she likes it there...I hope you enjoy your time working with "big people" tongue.gif

stella6979 replied: Thanks so much Dana!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm glad she has taken to it so well and is excited about going back. thumb.gif She is going to have a lot of fun and won't know the difference. And it's GREAT that she will get to spend some time with your mom, too! I always thought my kids were so bored being home with me all the time. They really welcome the break when they go back to school. laugh.gif

Where will you be working?

stella6979 replied:
That's how I feel too. I really try to keep her occupied but she's a pretty clingy kid and always wants me to play with her, so I'm really hoping this will help her become a little more independant.
I'm actually going to be the office manager for a small company near my house, so that's makes it even better. Winter will be here soon and I do not like driving far in the snow.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Aww! hug.gif That's a good sign that she is showing she'd like to go back. Probably really helps reasure you that everything will be fine.

I want to know what you'll be doing too! biggrin.gif Are you going back to your old job or trying something new?

msoulz replied: Wow, congrats on finding a job! That's tough around here right now. thumb.gif

Erin started preschool two days per week this fall (then she got demoted to the daycare because of too many accidents!) and the first two weeks were really tough, she cried and clung to me, it was awful. But this week she ran into the classroom and was just fine. So even if she has a little trouble at first, she will be OK.

I too wanted her to start getting some social skills and making friends. And getting back to work three days was good for me too. But it was tough. You will both be OK though! And how great to have grandma two days each week! She will love it!

Calimama replied: Aw that's awesome! Congratulations!!! I'm sure you do both will do great. hug.gif hug.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Congrats! thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: congratulations!!!! hug.gif It is hard being a sahm I feel like I'm going crazy all the time emlaugh.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I was wondering if you were still home or if you'd gone back to work.

Yes,, being a SAHM is maddening at times! Especially when there's a full moon.... or at least MY kids are crazier when there's a full moon. LOL

Congrats on trying it. At least you wont be wondering for the rest of your life what it would have been like. Congrats on finding a job close to home, too!!!!!

sparkys2boys replied: Good for you! Being to able to admit that you need outta the house is the hardest part of it all hug.gif

Sounds like in the end it will be the best for you all. GL and KUP on how it's going hug.gif

stella6979 replied: Thanks everyone! And don't you worry, I'll still be around. Probably more so since I'll be sitting in front of a computer all day. smile.gif
