Today is day 3 of her being sick, so she will probably get worse before she gets better. bawling.gif

Yup, they suck the snot out of the nose and test it. They can do it right there in the office. Although, Really, I didn't NEED the test, I told DH she had it before he even took her to the clinic. rolleyes.gif Like I don't know what RSV looks like... rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

At least Allie has a mom (you) that knows what to do!! She'll be better in no time!!!

A&A'smommy replied:
Thanks girls I was just being curious!! Also has is it ANYTHING at all like Asthma?

Danalana replied: Awwww, I'm so sorry for Al...and for you! I'm praying it gets better very soon hug.gif

PrairieMom replied:
what do you mean? is RSV like Asthma?
no. RSV is a virus that gives kids congested noses and can make the lungs irritated and congested, can give you pneumonia, and can make it hard to breath. it is worse on kids that are birth to 2 years.
the older you get the more it tends to just be like a regular cold.

Asthma is a chronic illness where the muscles around your airways tighten up and make it hard to breath.

basically. in a nutshell. wink.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
thank you I just wanted to hear it from a professional... I hate the drs in my area!!!!! growl.gif

PrairieMom replied:
thats the very nut shell-ish version. rolling_smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: i was just checking in for an update on al. i hope she is getting better, how many more days does she have???

PrairieMom replied: today is day 5. Her fever is better, but she is still coughing till she pukes, and her poor nose... I won't even go there. sad.gif She never snuggles, but she snuggled with me and co-slept with us for probably the first time in her life last night. I secretly loved it. laugh.gif
So, we are hanging in there. Thanks for asking.

boyohboyohboy replied: is rsv really contagious? is ben at risk?

PrairieMom replied:
it is very very contagious, but basically if is worse on infants and children under 2, and by age 3 nearly every single child has had it. If he does get it it will only be like a cold to him. I think I am getting it too, but it will only be like a cold for me too.
Getting him to and from preschool with out exposing everyone's infant brothers and sisters was a trick tho. rolleyes.gif
