Welp! That went over like a lead balloon

kit_kats_mom wrote: I took K to her first day at school this morning then dropped Lauren off at K's old sitters. The plan was for Lauren to go there two days per week, therefore granting me one Kid free day on Tuesdays.

The sitter called 20 minutes after I'd dropped her off and said she'd not stop screaming and crying. She asked that I give it an hour then come pick her up if she'd not calmed down. When I went to pick her up, she said that since her DH works at home, he can't have a screaming kid in the house so she'd not be able to watch lauren. BOOOOOOOOOO HISSSSSSS

I just posted a message to my mothers groups message board to see if I get any leads on someone to watch Lauren part time in the house while I'm here.

I really need someone. My work is suffering. sad.gif

On the upside. I called the school to check on Katherine and they said she's doing great and they were "impressed" with her poise and confidence. rolling_smile.gif

amynicole21 replied: WHAT?!! Don't you think that L would calm down once she got used to the place? So she's telling you that she won't do it based on an hour of watching her??? That totally doesn't make sense! blink.gif You have to be a little lenient... unsure.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: sad.gif for Lauren

biggrin.gif for K

did K act like that at all? maybe Lauren needs time to adjust

mckayleesmom replied: Wow.....why agree to watch her in the first place if she can't handle a baby crying?

I wish I lived near you Cary...I would take that little doe eyed beauty in a heartbeat... wavey.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
The thing is, I think she wasn't really that thrilled to be watching Lauren and losing K anyway. I just got that feeling KWIM? Lauren just made it easy to call it quits. I think she really wanted a full time kid but she didn't want to offend me since I've been with her for almost two years. I can understand. Her kids are K's age and older and a toddler is just more work.

K was a bit fussy the first day but never anything like Lauren. Lauren is a pistol...somehow I doubt I'll ever hear the word poised used in reference to her. LOL She has a seriously short fuse.

kit_kats_mom replied:
Ahhhh. She does look sweet in her pictures doesn't she? I'll have to try and capture the true essence of her sometime. lol

Now that I think about it. It's a lot like those airbrushed pics that someone else posted links to today. rolling_smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Oh...I think her and Russell would get along splendidly....she sounds like him... rolling_smile.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: This is my fear of what I am going to encounter when I go to put the girls in a day home later this yr. Kellie is going to be unstoppable with the theatrics. My plan is to stay around for the first week or so, allow her to adjust then drop them and run! Actually, I would make my departure like any parent of a child who needs to learn to get used to being left in the care of another. Tell them you love them, see them soon, and adios!

It may take some time for Lauren, but she should soon adjust. It will more than likely take someone who has patience, and knows how to work with a child who is crying uncontrollably. Some people have it, some do not. I hope you find someone soon. hug.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
laugh.gif pictures sure can be deciving.

Deffinalty will need some one with patience, does she have things she likes to do? distraction will help.

DansMom replied: Yeah, I think the sitter was looking for a reason to quit---because giving up in the first 20 minutes seems hasty laugh.gif All kids take a day or two to adjust to new situations.

kayla's mama replied: OMG I really think that the sitter was looking for a way out and LAuren crying was it. But COME ON it takes more than an hour to adjest to different surroundings. Hope you can find someone who you and trust and rely on hug.gif hug.gif

CantWait replied: It definetly sounds like she was looking for a way out. Any good sitter knows that babies need time to adjust. I'm sorry things didn't work out and hope that you can find someone else.

Glad to hear that K did so well today at her first day of school. Did you get any pics of her?

luvmykids replied: thumb.gif Great job for K!!

I hope you can find someone quickly for L and still get some kid free time. hug.gif
