Went to feed the ducks.... - Pics inside
MommyToAshley wrote: It seems like I have been taking and sharing a lot of pics lately. I hope I am not posting too many. But,I love looking at all the pics as much as I like to share them.
We went to feed the ducks yesterday, and I snapped a few pics. As usual, I can't decide which to share so there are a few.

This one cracks me up. She was scolding the bigger ducks for eating all the bread and not sharing with the baby ducks.

I'm on top of the world! (Well, actually a bridge but seems high to a 3 year old!)

aspenblue1 replied: Cute pics! Thanks for sharing. That bridge reminds me of one at Sharon Woods a park around here.
PrairieMom replied: not to be nit-pickey, but your ducks are geese. Cute pictures! I'm afraid to feed geese that aren't behind fences. They can be agressive, and DH had a bad expereiance with one once...
C&K*s Mommie replied: You can never have enough pics of children, nor can you share too many! So with that in mind, share, share, share oh and keep on snappin' them!
She is so cute!! Always a little doll.

MommyToAshley replied: Teehehee, technically you are correct, but to Ashley they are all ducks.
redchief replied: Canadian geese don't tend to be as agressive as most domestic goose breeds, though all are prone to aggressive behavior. Males tend to be agressive when protecting their mates, with whom they mate for life. We humans are considered threats to geese and therefore they'll tend to become agressive. Flocked geese tend to be a little easier to deal with and less likely to charge, but that's just a rule of thumb.
My aunt had geese on a farm all of her life and several of the species she kept were extremely aggressive including the large white domestics and the Scobeys (which are ducks). They used to charge me all the time, so much so that I got used to it and learned to stand my ground with them. They're also very intelligent and remember people who are unafraid. They tend to just keep their distance then, unless you turn your back...
At any rate I never suffered any more than a nip in the thigh or rear and never bled. They also tend to leave you alone if you grab them... no, this is a G rated board.
We aren't allowed to feed the Canadas here because they're considered a non-native species and a nuisance. We're allowed to feed the Canadian humans though, so y'all c'mon down!!!
Edit: Sorry darn it... I got so into my own duck story I forgot to say how cute those pix were! TFS
