We're getting rid of our internet... probably

I don't think I'll miss the tv much, and I let Andrew watch it way too much as it is and it will be good for us to not have it anymore. But I will miss the internet for checking the weather and looking up phone numbers, getting directions and shopping and all that good stuff. MySpace I can do without because I hardly ever do anything with it anyways, but I will miss PC. I know I don't post a whole lot anymore but I still check the boards every day and post here and there when I have time. I guess though when all is said and done it will be good for me to spend my free time somewhere other than on the computer. Maybe I'll actually get Andrew's scrapbook of his first year done! Anyways we'll probably be cancelling everything either this week or next- I'll post where I can up until we do.

It probably won't take long for me to get completely lost as to what's going on though, the way this board moves. I'll miss posting pictures - we never get around to actually printing our pictures so this is the only place I have to show off how cute my kids are!

Di ~ we can't do dial-up because we would have to get a land line for it. There is only one phone company where we live, and their prices are outrageous. That's why we get our phone through the cable line now... we use a company called packet8 that's just like Vonage.

kit_kats_mom replied: is there a library near you? if so, take the kids for story time once a week, bring a disk with your pics on it and use their internet connection to check in with us.

I seriously think I'd die without internet service. besides being necessary for my work, I also couldn't live without email or those medical sites when I'm up worried about a sick baby.

was going to be mine as well. If you do not currently use your library you will find it is a great resource and $$ saver AND the kids love, love the library. You can shop from there as well. I know someone who runs their home business by going to the library once per week and using the connection there.

I agree... you can't just disappear on us. I understand that you are making the best decision for your family..... but you can't jsut disappear on us. Hopefully there is a library near by and you can come on and post updates once in awhile.
