We're home!!

We are home and trying to get used to things again. Sophia is a little wild and totally in love with her sister, but we have to be very careful because she still really doesn't understand the need to be gentle with her.

Like Cary said, the induction was really easy. I got the pit and had my water broken at 4pm and she was born at 8:31pm! The worst part was having to wait an hour after requesting the epidural because L&D was so busy. Those contractions were ridiculously painful! I didn't even really get to enjoy the epi because as soon as it started to work I was ready to push... I dialated about a cm a minute until I was begging them to let me push and trying to hold in that huge coconut until everyone was ready to catch her! I pushed through 4 or 5 contractions that were about 2 min apart, so probably 15 minutes at the very most - much better than the 2+ hours of pushing with Sophia! Nora's apgars were 9 and 9 and she didn't have any problems.

I'm super exhausted because I was at the hospital alone with her last night and she nursed and screamed non-stop from 8pm through 2:30 when I finally asked the nurses to take her so I could sleep for an hour. I have probably only slept for 6 total hours since Wednesday.

Nursing is going well despite some soreness. I think my milk is about to come in which may make things a bit easier in the cluster-feeding department. I hope so anyway!

Here is the only pic we have downloaded on this computer right now... can't see Nora's face too well, but it's cute anyway I'll get some more posted shortly.

Oh, and Tanner's Mom - I can't believe your aunt's name was Nora Caroline! What a coincidence

paradisemommy replied: ok..first off i have to apologize..i was telling dh that my mom (being chinese) can't say her R's so she had a friend named nora and would always call her nola..i think in my carelessness, when i typed up the welcome, i typed in nola..bad bad bad me..sorry...but to top it all off - my edit button has somehow disappeared so i couldn't fix it..

anyways..nola is gorgeous as is sofia and i LOVE the picture of them!!! glad things went so well with her delivery..i know how apprehensive you were about inducing!!

She was 7lbs 12oz (doctor said she'd be 6lbs 9oz based on the u/s just a few days earlier! ) and was 19" long. Apgars were 9 and 9

jem0622 replied: Congrats and welcome baby Nora! Beautiful girls there! Just wanted to say that Nathan screamed like that and it was colic related. Once I figured it out...he had a milk protein allergy. Once I stopped eating all dairy then he stopped screaming.
