We're home! And EXHAUSTED... - Also-TARA & RAE:

I can't believe we're finally home! I'm sooooo happy we are, it's been a long week, but it feels like it went by really fast at the same time. It was wonderful to be there though, Kat was released from the hospital on Saturday (YAY) and is just settling back in to life at home with her husband and Jade...she's SO much happier, just from the time that I saw her first when we arrived last week, it's like night and day. Amazing-I'm so happy for them that she's finally feeling like some part of her normal self is back.

She and Jade had a little trouble getting back into nursing, Jade was a little disinterested in the breast since she'd been getting more and more bottles these couple weeks, and it's taking them awhile to get back in the groove of things, but I think they'll make it. I'm so glad I could go, I really am. I think I did help her, at least just knowing that her baby was ok and safe and she could really focus and put her energies into getting well, she's thanked me so many times...


It was definitely a challenge with the two little ones, but I feel like supermom now! I can definitely handle it (well, at least for a week) when baby #2 arrives, at least I know that much. It was really hard, more so than I expected, leaving Jade. I think that because I'd taken care of her so much this past week and breastfed her too-it was just really hard. I couldn't believe it, but I actually CRIED.
When they brought us to the airport, we were all crying, even my BIL and the babies. It was so sad! But a really good trip, all in all. I'm so glad that I got the chance to go and took it. Very worthwhile. And I'm feeling much more confident that with the help lined up for Kat (doulas, some friends on schedules, etc.) helping her these next couple months, I think she's going to be just fine. And that's a big thing for me-I really honestly didn't know for the first few days if she'd improve and start to get well. So that's a wonderful blessing.

I'm completely exhausted, beyond words, and we've both been sleeping all day long-we didn't get home until 4 AM...

But I just wanted to get on and say THANK YOU so so much to Missi for posting for me, and thank you so much to all of you that have been keeping us all in your prayers. It meant so much, and they definitely were heard. Thank you all.

I hope to be on a little tomorrow to catch up, but this is about all I can manage today.

At least I didn't have to deal with a cancelled flight on top of it. How frustrating. I am glad Kat's feeling better now. I hope things continue to look up for her and Jade.

Thank you! I'm trying to get back on CA time tonight because I'm all screwed up, getting up so early yesterday and then all the airport time...plus the time change...A has been down since 5:00 PM though! I just wonder what time he'll get up tonight/tomorrow...
