We're infested! - heeeeeeeeelp!
Danalana wrote: We are infested with ladybugs...do any of you know how to get rid of them? I'm not scared of them, but I'm not crazy about bugs crawling all over my ceiling, etc....
gr33n3y3z replied: just gather them up and put them outside I guess you had some lay eggs in the house Thats what we did when we stayed at a mountain house that had them in Jan. lol
My2Beauties replied: Eew, I hate any bug, even ladybugs, I'd be going crazy if I were you right now.
Danalana replied: I used the attatchment on our vacuum cleaner and sucked up all the ones I can see on my celing, walls, and floor. I'm sure they will come back, cause I can see them flying around outside
Danalana replied: On a side note: Did you know that a woman who is 6 1/2 months pregnant can't jump very high?
A&A'smommy replied: OH goodness here is some information just to be sure
http://www.anythingwisconsin.com/ladybugs.htm
Boo&BugsMom replied: Are they actual ladybugs or those orange-ish japanese beetles? I don't mind ladybugs, they are good for the gardens. But those japanese beetles bug the crap out of me.
Danalana replied: The site Jessica gave me calls them the same thing. Ladybugs or Multi-colored Asian beetles...
moped replied: Keep in mind they can live in your vacuum and lay eggs in there - so clean that out!
Boo&BugsMom replied: They can't be both, it's one or the other. You can tell by just looking at it, it will either be bright red or a little more orange. They are different, either it's a real red ladybug, or orange-ish multi-colored asian beetle.
holley79 replied: Did you kwno an old wives tales once said that if you have lady bugs in your house while you are pregnant it means the rest of your pregnancy will go smoothly. Lady bugs don't bother me. I would just let them be or gather them up and take them outside.
luvbug00 replied: lemon water... we had this problem last spring...
lisar replied: We were like that about a month ago and now it seems to be they are gone. They must have went your way. They were EVERYWHERE here.
coasterqueen replied: They are everywhere here now, too. It's those Japanese beatles. I hate those things. We vacuum them up when they get inside, but this year we've been successful at keeping them out. On the other hand, I have about 5 dozen flies in my house and it's driving me crazy.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Considering I have a ladybug tatooed on my right butt cheek....
Danalana replied: I have seen the red ones and the orange ones...they are flying all over outside, and I have had to vacuum and empty/kill several times
Jamison'smama replied: The Japanese beetles (we get these too) stink. They leave a musty smell--yuck!
coasterqueen replied: Yes they do. They creep me out because you could have a dozen of them on you and not even know they are there. They give me the heebie jeebies. ICK!!!
My2Beauties replied: Blech I'd move out of my house until they went away, seriously that's how bad I'm scared of all kinds of bugs!
luvmykids replied: ME TOO I was excited for the cold so they'd go away but all they did was move inside
Kirstenmumof3 replied: My sister had the same problem and she said there really isn't anything you can do. In time they will go away. Sorry!
MoonMama replied:
I can't handle bugs!!!! Run away NOW!!!! Hope you can ge rid of them soon hun.
Danalana replied: Yes,I like that idea...
coasterqueen replied: Yep! And they seem to multiple daily. I killed about 30 day before yesterday and yesterday there seemed to be another 5 dozen flying around.
Danalana replied: Well, there's ony a few today...so I might have over-dramatized a tad about being infested BUT all I could think about was my dorm in college when we WERE infested, and I could see it heading that way. I sprayed a bunch of stuff outside the doors yesterday, and I think that helped.
Boo&BugsMom replied: They also bite, and it's not pleasant.
Danalana replied: Yeah, I read that It said that they aren't being aggressive, just checking you out. Still, I don't want any part of that.
DVFlyer replied: Flame thrower?
Danalana replied: Well, that was going to be my next move...luckily, they are staying away today
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Yeah you know what's really gross is when your 8 month old baby eats the ones she finds on the floor and then her mouth smells like them. We don't have a ton of them, but they're here and there all over the house. I've only seen three or four real ladybugs this year - we mostly have the yucky asian beetles.
MotherForever2043 replied: We've also been through this a couple of weeks ago. Here's a website that helped me deal with them.
Ladybugs
Danalana replied: Thank you!
