What a WIERD child I have! - He likes to eat lotion, diaper cream...

CAMSMOM1 wrote: Cameron loves to eat his "Gaubies" I tried to figure out what the word Ga-bees means, and now I know! It's anything he can eat that's in a tube or bottle! emlaugh.gif

He LOVES to eat baby lotion, diaper ointment, toothpaste, anything in a tube or bottle. I have to keep them out of reach, but somehow, he gets a hold of one, and then he'll go hide so he can taste it! Weird child! Kinda scary though! Of course, all the medicine & cleaners are locked away, but I can't nessassarily lock the diaper cream, lotion & toothpaste away. KWIM?

Does anyone else's toddler do this? Or is mine just strange! wacko.gif

mckayleesmom replied: do you even have to ask that question? laugh.gif ....mainly toothpaste....but she has dabbled in the others.

kit_kats_mom replied: write down that word. laugh.gif I still recall my first encounter with toddlerese that I just couldn't decipher. Katherine was instant on "mee-meeps" for two solid days. I really tried to figure out what she wanted but we both ended up frusterated. She said it in the living room, in the bedroom, and most insistantly in the car. I was so lost. She finally said it while pointing to the radio. Aha! MUSIC!. Music is still mee-meeps at our place. rolling_smile.gif

And no, Katherine is way too cautious to try eating anything wierd. She never did. Then again, she never really eats anything including food. rolling_smile.gif I think Lauren my be my oral kid. sleep.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Kellie loves to take their Dora toothpaste (fruit/bubble gum flavored), and squeeze and eat. Sometimes she will get a hold of ours, but we use Extreme Clean in the empowermint flavor, it has a stronger taste for a child so she is not a BIG fan of it as much.

Kellie has gotten into the kids shampoo (turned it up and swallowed). She has had a taste of Caladryl (thankfully it did not harm her).

Edward's Mommy replied: I had friend whose son ate dog poop! She has two dogs. She had left her son on the floor with the dogs (one was a puppy) and she had run upstairs, well, the puppy had an accident and the baby helped himself, KWIM? I was so disgusted when she told me!

~~*Missi*~~ replied: Sabrina does this. I have called poision control so many times cause of the crap she has licked, tasted eating whatever.
Grins and giggles lotion (its non toxic but they will tell you they don't recommend you feeding it to them regularly, thats seriously what the lady told me)
powder (how that could taste good)
dog food
bird food
etc..... I mean its disgusting the stuff that she will try. No matter what i do hide it, move it, put it higher, etc.... she finds something new! Or finds it again

luvmykids replied: You are lucky, Colt has eaten the poop of just about every domesticated animal. No kidding, cat, dog, rabbit, horse, cow, need I go on? puke.gif

kimberley replied: ohmy.gif laugh.gif oh boy! poor you. Jade is also an oral baby.. looooooves toothpaste. would eat a whole tube if you let her. she has just graduated from eating boogers to toothpaste blink.gif wacko.gif what's worse? dunno.gif

Edward's Mommy replied:
At least her breath will smell good!!! rolling_smile.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Kids do some crazy things! I did not know but some of the "baby necessities" we all have in our homes are actually VERY dangerous! Baby oil and powder for example can cause pneumonia and toothpaste that contains floride can cause poisining... sad.gif I was a wreck when I found out about these things wacko.gif I hope he finds some new yummy treats emlaugh.gif soon!

CAMSMOM1 replied:

Yeah, I figured this wasn't healthy for him. Luckily I always catch him in time. He's pretty sneaky unsure.gif about it. How could diaper cream taste so good? wacko.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: Madison is my oral kid - anything and everything she finds goes in her mouth. Can't take my eyes off that kid for a second.....
