What am I going to do? - stupid Santa Claus :op

~Roo'sMama~ wrote: Last month at Walmart there was a Santa walking around talking to kids and getting pictures taken with them, and when he (actually it was a she rolleyes.gif) asked Andrew what he wanted for Christmas Andrew was too shy to say anything, so "Santa" asked him if he wanted a truck and he said yes, when she asked if he wanted a green truck or a red one he said green.

So now Andrew has been telling us for a month that Santa is bringing him a green truck with a green ladder. At first he said a green crane truck, but then he changed it. We can't find either! And even if we did miraculously find one in the next 5 days it would have to be cheap because money is not something we have a lot of right now. wacko.gif When Andrew brought it up again a few minutes ago I asked him what if Santa can't find one, and he said "He knows where they are." wacko.gif I don't want him to be disappointed, but I just don't know what to do. Mommy is a little irritated at Santa right now. dry.gif rolleyes.gif

cameragirl21 replied: maybe put an ad on Craigslist and see if someone can make a wooden one and paint it green?

A&A'smommy replied:

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Do you have a John Deere store around there? If not, I can overnight a green truck to you. wink.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I was just thinking John Deere too
I know Kmart has a big selection of JD stuff

msoulz replied: wub.gif You know, this is what is so great about this site - I will bet Andrew has a green truck on Christmas morning!! So many folks with great ideas, and offers to help. It's AWESOME!! wub.gif

. . . sorry if my gushing qualifies as a hijack blush.gif . . .

Nina J replied: I thought John Deere too.

Or, you could buy a regular truck and paint it.

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
I'm not sure if we do or not, I'll ask my mom if she knows. We do have a Kmart close by. Ordering something online is kind of out at this point because the shipping would cost too much.

I don't know how much it would cost to overnight something but it would probably be too much. Thanks for offering though! hug.gif If we can't find anything in a store nearby I'll ask Dh about painting one.

I just remembered that we got Andrew a train for his Thomas the train set, and it's green (I think it's Percy) I wonder if that would work? unsure.gif Probably not. rolleyes.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: If you can't find a green truck maybe you could write him a note from Santa saying that Santa knew how much he loves trains so he thought he would like a green train better than a green truck?

Nina J replied: If he hasn't specified, you could get him a picture of a green truck if you run out of ideas. You could get a frame and print one out on photo paper; Emily likes to have some pictures on her walls, I don't know if other kids do too.

You could do that if he hasn't said it is an actual toy truck?? I don't know, just a thought if you're really stuck.

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: This reminds me of the post last year,,, cant remember who it was but their daughter wanted a pink teddy bear with purple polk a dots or vice versa. The poster looked all over and I think her friend ended up putting purple polka dots on a pink teddy for her. rolling_smile.gif

I think everyone has given great ideas,...............
