What are everyones plans for the summer? Going on - a vacation or just staying home?
Kirstenmumof3 wrote: Just curious to see what everyones plans are! My DH and I haven't planned anything! The older 2 kids are involved PlayGrounds (it's like a daycamp) and it is absolutely FREE! They go everyday from 9:30-4:30 and they are really enjoying it! My DH will be taking some holidays in August and we plan to go to my in laws camp for a few days! Nothing to spectacular!
booey2 replied: Well we are going away from July 26 - August 2 to a cottage we have rented on Boshkung Lake, in the Haliburton Highlands in Ontario Canada. We have been renting a cottage for the past three years and have had 3 different ones, as we were not overly excited about them. Hopefully this year is the right one we can go back to every year. Here is a link to it. My brother-in-law pays for it and rents a jetski, we go along with the kids, feed, and clean up after him and all we pay for is the food. Gotta like this uncle.(He is mid 40's, single and has no one else to spend his money on) So needless to say I will be away from the board for a whole week. AGH.

Kaitlin'smom replied: Well we are not sure, we just bought a pool (should be deliverd friday) so we are gonna get it set up this weekend, so no real plans. We might go to Florida in September to see some grandparents who have a condo there. Other than that nothing just get the pool up and enjoy it!
Schnoogly replied: We are going to northern calfornia for a long weekend in August because my friend from high school is gettng married and I'm a bridesmaid (and Iain is the flower baby). We might stop to see my older brother on the way home, depending on how Iain does with the trip. We're driving (it's 6 hours) and I'm a little worried about how he'll be since he hates the car. DH is going to take a whole week off work so hopefully we can just hang around and relax! I also want to take Iain to my mom's in San Diego for a weekend so he can swim in her pool and we can go to the San Diego Zoo. Dh has friends down there whom I haven't met yet and we could all go to the zoo! Also, we'd love to leave him with my mom overnight so we can have one night alone. But he has to be able to sleep in the hammock at night first, so we'll see!

supermom replied: Vacation, what's a vacation? The not so great joys of owning your own storefront.....
We will be taking some small weekend trips later maybe to Kansas City - and my DH's sister is coming to visit from Sweden. But we'll still have to work at the store part time.
MommyToAshley replied: Yup, when you run your own business it is hard to take a vacation. Long weekends are ok, but vacations are hard to come by. Clients aren't going to put their stuff on hold for a week or two while you are gone.
Mommieto2Girls replied: We are going on a 4 day vacation to Disney in August, it's our 10 year anniversary. That's about it though.
victoire2002 replied: We're going to Colorado for 9 days in August. We are excited to go and get out of Texas heat for awhile!
kit_kats_mom replied: We are leaving in 2 weeks to fly from Florida to Seattle, Spend a night in Vancouver BC then spend a week in Pender Harbour at a fish camp on the Sunshine coast for a family reunion. I love frequent flier miles, the flight was 10 bucks!
I do think that it's pretty funny that us Florida folks find going to Canada to be a great vacation. I think the weather has been high 70's, low 50's up there....it's been nearing 100 here and I can't wait to get away! I've already gone through all of my winter clothes for the trip.
Kaitlin'smom replied: hehe and me here in Ohio love vacationing in FL! I wanna go to vancover though it sound beautiful!
supermom replied: When I was about 10 we went to Vancouver and it IS beautiful - I remember the Buchart Gardens and how absolutely gorgeous the country was (even at 10 that is still my strongest memory!)
CantWait replied: We're not doing anything big....everything this summer is going to be big on it's own.
~we have the new baby coming (in just under a week ) ~My mom is down right now for just under 2 weeks, we've already done a bunch of day trips ~going to the mountains, depending on the arrival of the baby ~going to a museum ~dh comes home, TOMORROW, as I post this, only 11 hrs and 45 mins to go ~Robbie will be in swimming lessons for 2 weeks in August
It's going to be really busy
MomToMany replied: Not a thing going on here-but it can vary from week to week. I don't want the kids getting too bored around here (hint-mommy wants to stay sane!).
