What are your kids bedroom themes? - Looking for nursery ideas

PrairieMom wrote: I am already thinking about how I want to do the nursery for the new baby. First I have to Move the Boy into a new room. I am wondering about cute boy themes that y-all might have.

If I have a girl I am going to do the nursery in Tinkerbell with very soft pink walls and soft green furnature. I will probably have to make the bedding my self.

If it is a boy I don't know what we are going to do.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: LOgan's room is two tone blue with white trim and a chair rail. My little bro painted little ants on the rail and a frog on the baseboard. They match his bedset.

Here are a few pics. The caterpillar was just plain wood, I took out one peg and painted it.

luvbug00 replied: Since Mya should've been a boy she had a disco ball as the moon and I painted stars all over the wall and it was blue..

coasterqueen replied: One of my friends did her son's room in frogs. Like a frog prince, that whole fairytale thing but very boy-ish. It's so cute! Another of my friends did her son's room in Pooh, which is adorable. Those are the only boys I know of, sorry not much help. happy.gif

I saw once a person who did a ocean/sailboat type theme with a huge mural on the wall. It was absolutely GORGEOUS! Oh and I love the western theme boys rooms. So very cute. wub.gif

CantWait replied: Anthony's room is done in bears. However if I were to have another room right now, or could even redecorate his room right now, I'd be doing it all in fish cause he loves fish and there's so many of the fischer price aqua marine stuff out that I just love.

MyLuvBugs replied: Tinkerbell would be SOO cute for a girl. Lorelei's room is in moons and stars, Light blue, pale yellow, with a touch of pink and green. It's going to sound corny, but I wanted her to always reach for the stars. rolleyes.gif Silly mommy, huh? lol laugh.gif

ammommy replied: Alec's nursery was done in Hey Diddle Diddle. I made copies of pictures in the nursery rhyme, then projected them on the walls Then I wrote the nursery rhyme in a wave pattern around the room. Now he has a jungle painted on one wall with animals throughout.
Megan's room is light green with a picket fence and flowers on 2 walls. I put dragon fly wallies randomly around the walls on the top part.

my2monkeyboys replied: Will's room was done in Baby Looney Tunes in bright colors. His walls are yellow, the ceiling is sky blue with white clouds on it. I had those plastic-like stickers on the wall of the Looney Tunes and his bed set was LT, too.
If I have another child though I'll just do a color palette instead of a "theme" though. It just makes it easier as they grow up and out of it. Now my son is into Power Rangers and Spiderman. I almost cried when I took down all his baby stuff last week! blush.gif

Boys r us replied: Braedon's nursey was done in jeremy the frog. It was an eggshell color with a gold muriel painted on the wall of Jeremy the frong sitting on a tree swing reading a story book. It was so beautiful and classic.

In the midst of doing a new nursery now, it's going to be unisex.a really soft yellow. I found a cute round crib that's yellow and green and a moon "chandelier" and some yellow furniture at a baby boutique store here.

My2Beauties replied: Hanna's is done in Baby Looney Toons wub.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I don't have much of a theme. Wil's bedding is blue gingham with yellow and blue toille. We used to have the top part a pale yellow with white on the bottom and a chail rail in the middle. And I found some cool vintage looking illustrations of animals that I framed and hung on the wall. Plus I have a shadow box with DH's silver baby bowl, spoon and cup (also hanging on the wall). I like things pretty simple.

Our home office is painted violet because it used to be a 5 year old little girl's room and we still haven't painted it. I'm sorta hoping I don't have too! I picked an antique white crib for Wil so that I can use it with a little girl if we have one.

moped replied: We have the Safari theme going on here!

CantWait replied: So have you got any ideas???

PrairieMom replied: I like blue gingham, it is so sweet and simple. I am also thinking of doing some kind of an airplane theme. Don't know.
When the Boy moves into his new room I am going to paint it Red white and blue with airplanes and trains, but I'm not sure exactly how I;m gonna do it yet.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: No themes here. We don't do 'themes' or characters, really. wink.gif Ethan's bedroom is done in black toile...it is black and green...the furniture is painted black. Maddie's room is just flowery, girly, bright and fun. wink.gif Her room will be changed soon.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I forgot to mention that Wil has blue wooden airplane wall hooks...I got them at Target. They have some inexpensive nursery ideas! Good luck!

BTW, if you're going for airplanes, it would be cute to paint the room a soft blue and paint white fluffy clouds everywhere and then get a airplane mobil to hang on the ceiling or above the crib!

Kaitlin'smom replied:
hope you dont mind me asking but what is 'the boys' name?

Kait had baby loony toons, it was more gender nutural he was afraid she would come out a boy. Now she has dragonfiles and flowers

my sisters nursery is basically fish, its called under the sea.

PrairieMom replied: "the Boy" is Benjamin. But he even refers to himself as "the Boy" rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

ediep replied: Jasons roon is sort of a baseball room. We have pinstripe wallpaper from a chairrail to floor (thats a subtle New York Yankee referance) and he has pottery barn kids sports theme bedding, a baseball lamp, and a few baseball pictures.
