What are your plans - for July 1st?

Last year, we went to the University of Waterloo because they were also having their 50th Bday and the fireworks were totally AMAZING!!!!!
We usually drive up to Niagara Falls and watch them there. I'm not sure what we're doing this year, or where we're going.
A&A'smommy replied: do you mean the 4th? we usually get together with our family for a bbq and then watch the fireworks with our friends and kids (well except last year because we helped with a purposal)
youngmomofone replied: nothing planned
luvbug00 replied: for the 1st we are having mya and my dad's birthday party.
for the 4th we are going to DC to watch the fireworks
jcc64 replied: What's supposed to happen on July 1st?
cameragirl21 replied: I'm guessing it's some kind of Canadian holiday, like their version of our 4th of July.
MommyToAshley replied: We're not doing anything on July 1st except having our windows measured as we're getting new windows installed.
However for the 4th of July, we're going to a pool party / cook-out at a friend's house, then we'll probably watch the fireworks somewhere.
kimberley replied: July 1st is Canada Day!! we are 141 as a country!
we get ripped off this year, it's a Tuesday so no long weekend *pouts* we are going to ribfest tomorrow (live bands, rides, ribs, market) then to Mississauga Festival on the 1st for more live music, kid stuff and fireworks.
A&A'smommy replied: ooooooohhhhhhhh I was so confused
moped replied: Yes it is Canada Day...Independance Day......
No plans here
JocelynsMommy replied: I miss 4th of July so much. They don't celebrate it in England we usually just have a few friends over for a BBQ. I haven't gone to watch fireworks since I've been here (4 years now.)
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol I suppose celebrating the 4th of July in England would be a slap in the face to them. I would miss it too.
Teesa®© replied: I guess I should have asked TWO questions... What the Canadians are doing on the 1st and what pretty much everyone else is doing on the 4th
I don't know what we're doing, DH has to work on the 1st but has the day before off. He's on afternoons and won't be home till 11.30pm, so we'll miss everything good.
Awwwwww
Doesn't England celebrate its own birthday?? Or even Britain?? I couldn't find an Establishment at all I did find out that Julius Caesar invaded England in 55 BC , I knew he was old, but no idea he was THAT OLD
I also found out that The Kingdom of Great Britain, became a state from 1707 to 1800 due to the merger of the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England. Then in 1800, it basically ate the Kingdom of Ireland and was, I guess, declared a new state, sort of.
Gah, it's too early in the morning to be learning this much. I feel like I'm doing an online riddle
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Our church is having a Freedom Fest at a nearby church (in the country) that we are helping start. We are volunteering out there all day. There will be tons of stuff for the kids, food and fireworks that evening. We are looking forward to it.
sparkys2boys replied: We are having a huge bbq with family and friends if the weather is good and then going down to the water front to watch the fire works. I am praying for sun sun sun that day.
luvmykids replied: On the fourth we're going to a parade in the next town and the carnival after. Not sure what we'll do that night, it's so dry that we have a ban on fireworks except the show at the AFB but it's soooooo crowded there it's almost impossible to have any fun
