mummy2girls replied: Oval drops, Gripe Water....
Crystalina replied: Hmm, I've never heard of either one. Do they sell those at Wal-Mart?
mom21kid2dogs replied: We used Mylicon (sp?) with Olivia. It worked wonders!!! (and you can get them at Wally world! )
stella6979 replied: Yes, yes, yes!! The Mylicon drops do work really well.
Crystalina replied: Ok! That's what I used to get. I just couldn't remember the name.
lisar replied: yes get that. GREAT STUFF. It was a miracle worker on my kids.
Calimama replied: Best.product.ever
If you can't find it Crystal I'll ship you some.
My2Beauties replied: Yup - Mylicon all the way!
Crystalina replied: My sister just told me that at her hospital they have a big thing to remind the RN's that it's been recalled. Anyone hear about this? I'm sure all the bad ones are off the shelves right?
boyohboyohboy replied: our ped. aways told us that it is not a real medication..thats its not something that is even regulated, and it doesnt really do anything..it might seem like it worked but its just that the gas was gone..or the kid cried themselves out...
anyway that being said...
you can take her legs and pump them up and down like bend them at the knee and then raise and lower them to her stomach and back...a few times to squeeze her essentially that will sometimes cause the gas to escape..
or else take yuur finger and circle her belly button counter clock wise circling outward as you go and it helps stimulate her bowels to remove the gas from intestines..
also bicicyle pump her legs one down and one up all the way to her stomach and that usually makes them relieve the gas also..
I am not a fan of using "meds" that are not regulated, and of no real value...
there are also several types of gripe water that have huge recalls lately for very serious poisons in them..so I dont recommend gripe water at all..
Crystalina replied: Dear heavens!!!! That stuff is $12 for a tiny bottle. Has the price went up in the last 5 yrs? I used it with Evan and I know my cheap butt didn't spend that much.
lisar replied: ummm no it was $12.00 when lexi was a baby and that was 8 years ago. Once the cashier didnt know what it was and the barcode wouldnt scan so she rang it in at a dollar. I was so excited.
A&A'smommy replied: mylicon it worked MIRACLES for Autumn that child cried all the time and the mylicon drops helped!!!!
Crystalina replied: Whew! I had DH look for a generic and the pharmacist showed him where they were. And of course it was NOT buy the name brand. He got the Equate brand and paid only $4. Ms. El Cheapo wins again.
A&A'smommy replied: dang its only like 5 or 6 dollars here and it was only like 3 dollars 5 years ago when Alyssa was a baby
