What do you do when your babies are napping??
Heather wrote: ME? Well you would think for a mother who had a child who wakes several times at night would take advantage and nap!! LOL YEAH RIGHT!! I clean, finish up on my chores, hobbies and such, play on the computer...
NOW that I think about it, I should really consider napping...LOL
What do you ladies do???
Roxworld replied: i do the same thing. Dh gets mad at me. he'll ask...did you nap today while Aidan was sleeping, and the answer is always no! I'd like to, but I always feel guilty. I do laundry, make and wash bottles, clean up, try and catch up on phone calls, pay bills, and of course.....check the boards, and surf the net....hehe. Hopefully i'm not too cranky by the time dh gets home....poor guy....lol
Schnoogly replied: Well since he only sleeps while I'm holding him I don't have a lot of choices--watch TV or surf the net. I can use both hands if he's in his sling (which he is right now!!) Sometimes he will sleep next to me in bed so I nap too but not often--he doesn't sleep very long this way so I am stuck holding him. He is a terror when he doesn't nap long enough so I just can't get anything done, aw darn.

momofajcl replied: During Nicholas' morning nap I jump on the treadmill for at least 1/2 an hour with a book. I stay on it longer as long as he is sleeping. During his longer, afternoon nap I answer all my emails, eat lunch, do any pressing housework - like dishes - pay bills and get calls made or just play on the computer. Then when he goes down for the night at 7, I finish my housework or jump back on here to procrastinate the housework...like I'm doing now! ROFL!
dhoppygirl replied: I am a WOHM, so I am at work when he naps during the week...I would love to ask DH this question..he doesn't nap when Peyton naps, but he doesn't do a lot of the housework..I have suspicion that he either reads a book or magazine, watches tv or plays video games...he would get on the internet, but we don't have that at home!!! Don't get me wrong..he does do some housework, but I still pay the bills, do the laundry on the weekends and try to clean whatever else didn't get cleaned during the week during Peyton's nap on the weekend!!
kit_kats_mom replied: I'm a WAHM so I usually get on the computer, process some files, check this board while they are uploading or downloading, tidy up, eat. Napping is the last thing on my priority list. I get alot of reading done while I'm nursing her so I'm pretty caught up on that. If we've had a bad night though, I nap.

supermom replied: I'm a WOHM but little one comes with us (we own our own store) so I work - usually doing things I can't do when he's awake, like putting up inventory or cleaning or taking out trash or whatever - yeech, almost sounds like home - giggle!! On the weekends when we are at home, lots of times I will try to catch a nap, but sometimes end up working then too with websites and such.
When the new one gets here, hope the store is big enough for the both of them. But, by the time baby is Anders age, he'll be in Kindergarten - whoa! What a thought.....
5littleladies replied: Well with 2 others besides my little one I spend alot of time keeping them entertained, but at about 1 o'clock they all take a nap and then I run right down to the computer to see what everyone here is talking about!! lol Otherwise being a SAHM I do housework. blech!
MommyToAshley replied: WAHM .... I should be working when she is napping but lately I have spent too much time here. LOL I had to work last weekend because I goofed off here last week. I am trying to have some self-control this week. LOL
paradisemommy replied: I have an extremely active little boy and I tell you - he wears me out !! So now sometimes when he goes down, I go down with him to get energized!!
But yes, I have the guilt feeling too of how much work needs to be done around the house - but I don't ever get around to doing it while he's napping. It's just too darn easy to get distracted when you jump on the computer and are reading and catching up with you guys!!!
ediep replied: during Jason's morning nap I make and wash bottles, eat breakfast, do laundry. During his early afternoon nap I shower make bed, have lunch, check the boards, email friends. If Jason naps also in the later afternoon it is when he is in the stroller for a walk or at a store so I am walking or shopping
maliksmommy replied: I work so I'm only around for weekend naps and I do try and take andvantage of the quiet time, I may not nap but I do just relax. I know I have a ton of other things around the house to do but I think that if I relax then I am a better mom to Malik when he wakes up and not so worn out.
By the way Dawn and Roxane I love your new avatars~very cute
MomToMany replied: You mean kids actually nap?? J/K! I usually try to get the housework done that I can't when they're awake (the dreaded laundry ) because Hannah likes to unfold everything that I just folded, empty out the baskets, etc.. My 3 year old DS loves being my little helper, so at least I get some help in this house!
booey2 replied: Well with ds #2 I did nap (cause everyone around me told me to ) but with #2 I kinda had my handsfull with #1 as all of my family is out of town. Now that I am back at work I miss naptime thru the week but on weekends I give some one on one time to ds#1 cause he gets the short end of the stick sometimes because his brother is so young. Hope this helps.
msjennbug replied: naptime is staggered. The two younger ones lay down and I do school with the 4.5yo - all of about 5-10min and then she lays down. Then I do school with the 5.5yo and 8yo. Then they lay down for quiet/rest time and I usually go online. Sometimes (like yesterday) I get to lay down for a few minutes. By the time I check email and boards usually the 3yo or 18mo is awake.
Anyway, naptime is school time here.
jdkjd replied: I see that's going well...
I'm a WOHM but when at home I am usually on the computer while she naps, either working on her pictures or on the internet. I just started downloading music off the internet, so I've been experimenting with that also.
