What do you prefer? - after every diaper change, why?

In the begining I always used powder but not anymore. Madison never gets diaper rashes ,maybe twice since birth, that I have had to use oitment. I was just wondering what everyone else uses or plan to use.

amynicole21 replied: I used to put Aquaphor (or vaseline) on after every change. She hasn't had problems with diaper rash for a while, though (knock wood) so I haven't been using anything.

booey2 replied: We used Vaseline up til about 8 or 9 months and then stopped and only used something when they have rashes.

ediep replied: we use desitin at night since it is 10-11 hours before he gets changed. Otherwise, I only use it during the day if his tush looks a little red

MomToMany replied: I'd have to say nothing; Hannah usually escapes me and runs naked for awhile! She likes to "air-out", especially after her bath . But if she has a rash, I use Desitin.

alice&arik replied: I usually use Desitin if it looks like a little red, and if he drags that off and I can't find it, I use vaseline.
But otherwise nothing. He is usually too excited to play with his pee-pee I just let him run.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Some no-name brand of Zinc oxide cream...but only if his bum lookes a little too red for my liking. My daycare provider uses it every change.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I would love to put baby powder on her little bottom but she has really bad allergies to stuff like that! We can't even use baby wipes! I love the smell of baby powder and I have this huge bottle of it that I bought when I was pregnant and now I can't even use it !

Mommieto2Girls replied: Since Maddie was born I used baby powder ( Vanilla & Jasmine), but them stopped using it about 2 months ago. Today I used it again and it smells so good. I think it helps with the pooh smell. So we will be using powder again for a while.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I saw this little video once...a baby in a crib, and the parents giggling..all of a sudden the baby farts, and you see this cloud of powder coming out of it,s bum.... it was SOOO funny!!
