What do you use

Kaitlin'smom wrote: since I am working on booking my trip to FL in October for our annivesary, I was wondering what you use to book trips/vacations

MommyToAshley replied: I voted no idea, but actually I do a combination. I do some research on the internet and phone, then I book it the best way possible.

Good luck planning, sounds like a fun trip!

amynicole21 replied: I usually research all of the websites (travelocity, hotwire, expedia, etc). If you need to rent a car, get a hotel room, and book a flight, it might be easier to use a travel agent though. You can still do all of those things online, but I've never tried it. Also, sometimes travel agents get better deals on things. Always worth looking into. Maybe find your best price online and then call the agent to see if she can beat it.

MomToMany replied: I don't go on trips, so I wouldn't have a clue where to start!

Good luck planning your trip! Sounds like it will be a lot of fun!

DansMom replied: I booked directly on Northwest Airlines' reservation website for my trip to Maine in September. This was the only way I could reserve for a child under two (free) in an on-line format---the websites like Travelocity did not seem to provide that feature.

A&A'smommy replied: We get on the internet find the hotel we wanna stay at make reservations and go biggrin.gif

coasterqueen replied: I definitely book all my hotels online. I do research online for plane tickets and other travel arrangements for packages, etc. Then I call my travel agent. Most times she can't get me a better deal though, so I'll just book it online.

Jamison'smama replied: I am very lucky--my SIL owns a travel agency so I book any major vacation through her--she usually has clients who have been where I want to go or she has been there herself so she can give better information as to hotels to choose or locations etc. I usually do my research online and present any findings to her--she is more than happy to accommodate--travel agents don't mind. I say if it is just airline tickets I would book online (I usually do) but if it is including hotels or a resort package with tours etc. I would go the travel agent way. Where are you thinking about going?

Kaitlin'smom replied:
We are flying into Tampa, and will most likley stay in St Pete Beach, I plan on booking on-line, its what I usually do. I was checking all the different sites to see who was cheeper, for each flight and hotel and with both. I think we have it figured out where we are staying. Found a good price, I dont think a travel agent could bet it, I knwo when my boss travels he usually uses an agent, but I have show him some cheeper flights and then the will call them back to get that one, they seem not to happy with it, but accomadate him, now he usually asks for help when looking for a cheep flight blink.gif

as for a rental car I have connections there and can get great rates with upgrades for free!

thanks for the responses I was just wondering what everone else did

DixieDarlin replied: I just call the airline and make reservations over the phone.

momof2girls replied: I am in Tampa, St Pete is nice
you should look into the sarasota area too, and anna maria island its beautiful there!

Kaitlin'smom replied:
hummm had not thought about thoes, I dont know if we want to go that far south, but since i have not booked anything yet I will look into them.

maybe I can find something nice there on the beach, for less...thanks!

momof2girls replied: St Pete is great, lots of stuff to do or just even relax..
Sarasota beaches are cleaner but not as much to do, and a lil more expensive from what I have found....
