What does this look like?
mammag wrote: Kristen just came up and told me it looked like Conner was punched in the eye and I had him come up. It is all swollen and he keeps rubbing it. What does it look like to you? He's had pink eye and it has never presented like that. I gave him allergy medicine to see if that's what it is. I'm wondering if it is allergies and he is rubbing more on the right because he's right handed??? I don't know. He hadn't complained about any problems and when I asked what happened he just said nothing, he's just tired. What do you think?
Mommy2BAK replied: poor guy . I have no clue what that could be. And he does look tired
mckayleesmom replied: maybe some animal hair got in his eye....I know that Im not allergic to animals just petting and stuff....but if I touch my eyes after petting them...they get really itchy and swollen....especially from Guinee pigs, cats and hampsters.
Jamison'smama replied: My eye can look similar when I have an allergic reaction to something--did he say they were itchy? Did he get anything in it that he can think of? I actually swell like that with a medication allergy so it could be anything really. Cottonwood has been bad.
lisar replied: To me it looks like he waws punched in the eye. but i dont know for sure.
Lisa
coasterqueen replied: same here. mine will swell closed if I go petting my cats too much.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Definetly looks like an allergy to me, but I'm no specialist. I hope the meds work. Poor lil guy!
mckayleesmom replied: You can try giving him a childrens benadryl tablet and it will probably clear it up.
kayla's mama replied: It looks like an allergy. It could also be a sty. A pimple on the eye lids. I had one before and my swelled really bad. hope it gets better.
luvbug00 replied: Allergies!!!
A&A'smommy replied: looks like allergies to me... Alyssa's eyes do that when she isn't on her meds
MommyToAshley replied: My eyes look like that at the start of an allergy, but like Karen, they can swell shut. In addition to the meds, I'd put cold compresses on his eyes... that always helped me. Has he had allergies to animals or hayfever before?
Poor guy, hope he is feeling better.
mammag replied: He hasn't that I know of. He had a couple of spells where he got hives and I think I figured out it was the detergent so I switched to Tide Free and we haven't had any problems since. He's never had this before though.
It looks the tiniest bit better right now but still very puffy. I gave him some children's Benadryl. I just gave him a 2nd dose so I'll update on how he looks in the morning and if it doesn't go away I'll take him in.
MM'sMama replied: I agree but maybe not even pet hair. It could be anything. When I was 10 or so my left eye did the same thing and was itching then started hurting and swelled almost shut before we found out what was wrong. My mom took me to the ped. and he didn't know he said allergies too. But it turned out I had a llittle string in my eye probably from my sheets or soemthing. My mom took to the eye doc. that's how we found out. He got it out and gave me some drops and I was good as new pretty fast. When something stays in you eyes for a long time the more the eye trys to fight it so it gets worse. Just a thought thought. I hope his eye is better in the morning keep us updated to you and him both.
Josie83 replied: Oh my gosh, I have no idea!
I'm guessing this was posted a while ago . . . o you do you know what the problem was? xx
jcc64 replied: Looks allergic to me. Any kind of allergen can trigger it- ds is allergic to grass- sometimes he gets puffy after baseball games (ball in grass, then in hand, hand in eye, etc). The benadryl should work. Btw- cucumbers are very soothing to the eyes. Put one in the fridge, slice it up, and have him sit with them on his eyes for a little while.
mammag replied: Just wanted to update you all.....
When he woke up the next morning they looked much better and now they are back to normal and I haven't given him any more Benadryl since yesterday morning. Don't know what caused it but hopefully he doesn't have any more problems. That was really wierd!
mommy_loves_chase replied: that looks like the same thing that my nephew had my sister just gave him some benidrill if i spelled that right and it cleared it right up
