What is with this site?

jcc64 wrote: Where did everyone go? Has everyone fled to Facebook?

MommyToAshley replied: I'm here. biggrin.gif I've actually just been quite busy with work.

amymom replied: I come and read, but as in real life, I am a quiet person, so I don't speak much. sad.gif

It has been quiet here. I think it is facebook, but am not sure.

mom21kid2dogs replied: Mostly, I'm on FB but I do check here every day.

msoulz replied:
Me too!

DVFlyer replied: I've asked before and the answer was most went to FB.

I never really thought of FB as a "discussion" site but it seems many here do.

coasterqueen replied:
Same here. I just stopped posting as much on here because I felt like I was the only one posting. Everyone else it seems is mainly on facebook. Not that I mind having convos with the ones who do post on here often, but it would be nice to have a lot more faces around, kwim?

coasterqueen replied:
Nah, I don't think it's a discussion site. happy.gif

mummy2girls replied: I stopped really coming here alot and i dont post much because i just feel the site is not the same place. I dont get much responses at all and if i do get a response its maby 2 if im lucky. It just feels different... im on facebook...

MommyToAshley replied: I post more pictures and updates about Ashley on Facebook because it's the easiest way to update my family and distant friends. But, I don't really use it for a discussion site.

amymom replied: I think the question alone has made it more active today! lol

MommyToAshley replied: lol laugh.gif

jcc64 replied: I'm probably the last person on the planet who doesn't frequent FB. Not sure why, exactly. Maybe b/c I initially saw it as my kids' playground, not mine. And then there are all of those high school classmates and people from the past that I don't have the energy or inclination to deal with. I know you can ignore or refuse request or whatever, but that in itself is a hassle to me.

moped replied: I check in through the day but I think it is the DARN FACEBOOK.....

mom21kid2dogs replied:
Ditto. Much easier to post pictures, etc. For me, Facebook is an opportunity to keep up with people I know IRL but might not see that often~far off family, friends that have moved, etc. I actually only have one FB friend whom I've never met. No anonymity there!

mckayleesmom replied: I check here everyday and post if there is something, but it seems so lonely here. Its very sad to see.

We need to bring parentingclub back... rolling_smile.gif

I resisted FB for so long because I didn't see the big deal....but then I found myself talking to myself...so I had to float over to the dark side.

my2monkeyboys replied: I know... it is a sad place lately. sad.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: probably the Facebook curse! LOL

To me, FB is just easy.

luvbug00 replied: iknow this place used tobe hoppin! the P&I room is in desperate need and I haven't seen many pics of the cutie kids of all ya'll in about ..i dunno know..forever! booo come on guys!!

My3LilMonkeys replied: I read at least 5-6 times a week, but I'm terrible at posting. Plus my life is so boring that there's really nothing to post about most of the time. tongue.gif

Swood75 replied: Well,I go to FB quite often, but my computer doesn't cooperate with me a lot of the time for me to post on here much at one time..LOL.. dry.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied:
I changed my browser to Google Chrome~way easier to post everywhere. I had a scrapbooking board I couldn't even get on until I switched.

Nina J replied: I'm still here, nearly daily. Sometimes I just don't post. I often think of topics to make or replies but I get distracted laugh.gif

PrairieMom replied: I check in multiple times a day, but it is just so slow. I have been ultra busy lately too.
FB is definitely the problem, but IMO it could never replace what we have / had going on here. you guys have held me up through 2 babies, and one on the way wub.gif I don't know that there is a way to revive things here, I think that now that there are things like FB, the days of the message boards are slowly going to fade away. bawling.gif Which is really really sad because they can be such a valuable resource.

I will stick here till the bitter end tho. wink.gif hug.gif

DVFlyer replied: Why do people like FB better?

mom21kid2dogs replied:
Although I don't see FB in the same light as a discussion board (I only friend IRL people there) I like FB because you can chat individually with someone and it's infinitely easier to post pictures. It's much more representative of my day to day life. I can ask a ? about school or something about archery class, let people know about a performance O has that they might want to check out, etc. That stuff would all be irrelevant over here.

Here reminds me more of pen pals with common interests. I find it interesting and often helpful but it's not my day to day life.

kimberley replied: i am on FB more because i am a farmville addict thanks to DS lol. also that it's easier to update relatives/friends and see updates on them. this board will always be home, but it has slowed a lot in the past year or so.

DVFlyer replied: I understand the appeal of being able to update friends and family quickly, but I know I wouldn't have that many updates.

I mean, how many times can you say, "I had oatmeal this morning"... or "Phew... what a nail biter on American Idol".

huh.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
I went on your FB page this morning to check to see if there was any news and saw that you were playing Farmville so I figured you weren't in labor yet... well, unless you are REALLY addicted. LOL

My3LilMonkeys replied:
For some people....they can say that kind of stuff 20 times a day, every day!!

kimberley replied:
LOL! rolling_smile.gif nothing yet.

luvmykids replied: I don't have as much time as I used to and usually go to FB first which usually takes up the time I do have.

I've been lurking but not replying lately, I broke my finger and don't have patience for much one handed typing.

MommyToAshley replied: I have to say, I still love this place and you guys.

I came here this morning, saw the thread called "Information Only Please", I was a little apprehensive as to what I would find as I knew it would be a health care debate, but couldn't help myself and I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts and different ideas. It was certainly interesting and didn't let me down. I read a few more serious topics and then read the thread about Avery thinking condoms were candy at the doctor's office and laughed so hard that I cried. Not to mention all the cute kids! Where else could you get all that in one place??!!!
