What passy??? - YEAH
My2Beauties wrote: Hanna did so good this weekend..no more passy She was hard the first night, she fussed a lot before finally going to bed aroun 9:00 and then she woke up at 3:00 in the morning and screamed for about an hour and a half, I finally had to give in and give her a bottle to calm her down! She normally doesn't take a bottle in the middle of the night, but I couldn't bear the crying anymroe. I tried music and singing to her and bouncing her and walking around and nothing was working. However the next day, she totally forgot about that thing. She went to bed with ease, woke up again (because of her teeth) but no crying for passy just needed some more motrin it had wore off and went right back to sleep. Last night she fell asleep easily and slept all night!!! I'm so proud of her! She proved she was a big girl and doesn't need that thing! I can only imagine how fun the bottle is gonna be though

amynicole21 replied: Yay Hanna! I hope it's as easy for us when we take the plunge!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: WTG Hannah! That's awesome! Claudia still has her soother and will not give it up! So that's great that she did so young!
Jamison'smama replied: Haven't had it in me to try taking Jama's away...hope it is easy when it happens but I doubt it will be.

BTW, Brenda I haven't had it in me either to take Kylie's away. We tried cutting off the tips long ago and that didn't work at all. But since Kylie just basically weaned I don't want to add anymore "trauma" to her life by taking away her binkie. I was telling DH this is going to be a chaotic "year" for her with weaning, then at some point before 3 yrs old I hope she potty trains , plus I hope she gives up the binkie before 3 AND a new baby on the way. As if that's not enough. So it's kind of a toss up for us...do we want to worry about potty training or binkie. Course she has no desire for either right now.
MommyToAshley replied: WTG Hannah! What a big girl!
My2Beauties replied: Thanks you guys! It really wasn't that bad she just forgot about it after the second night! I hope everyone else has an easy time as well! (((sending easy vibes your way when the time comes)))
Josie83 replied: Well done! Hanna sounds like such a sweet baby! Hope she's not missing her dummy too much - by the way i was a bit confused about what a "passy" was until I read for a while lol! Cassie isn't supposed to have her dummy (which we call her dodo) any more, but she has a knack of finding them, or more likely being given them by my sister or Jason's brother! Lol! I think she's forgotten about them then she'll find one in my jacket pocket or whatever and swipe it back! Hope hanna forgets about hers forever! xx

I have been phasing out the passy. She only has it at night now and I've been wanting to phase it out completely now that she is 10 months. I didnt mean for her to have it this long but when you are lacking sleep and that is they ONLY way she will sleep.. you run with it. lol At night... she mostly likes to hold it. Every once in a while she uses it but rarely. And in the morning, she has no problem leaving it in the crib.
So I'm getting ready to do the final phase out.

New Mommy replied: When did your babies get addicted to the passy. Mine is only 6 weeks and sometimes he takes it to go to sleep but it will fall out and he will wake up and not take it anymore. Do they get addicted later?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yeah Hannah!!! You are such a BIG GIRL!!
My2Beauties replied: Yeah she can't walk around yet to find them, I'm throwing them all away this weekend anyways..in the Garbage they go!
My2Beauties replied: Yeah it's definitely hard that first night at this age. I did the phasing out for a couple of weeks, I only gave it to her at naptime and bedtime. She did well with that but I had a problem with Hanna waking up all night because she couldn't find her passy and that was the only way she'd go back to sleep. Even after the past couple of days she has learned to sooth herself back to sleep a lot better. The most I have had to get up since passy has been gone is once a night....before that it was at least 3-4 times!!!!!!!!!!!! I needed some SLEEP!
My2Beauties replied: At around 6 months....that is when they no longer need it to help their sucking reflex and it just becomes a habit!!
3xsthefun replied: That is great! I sometimes wish Maegan didn't like her so much. But I can't bare to take it away yet. I will try to before she turns 2 unless she decides she doesn't like them.
Kathy replied: Wonderful!
We tried the binks here. They didn't really take to them. I guess it's a good thing. LOL! Although DH thinks they look cute so occasionally he'll give one to them and see how they do with them.
Now the bottles.............they were an appendage to my son. We're still doing morning and bedtime bottles and they're 15 mos now. Soon........soon we'll be done with them. Before the end of the year. Pedi is telling me to just toss them out. Oh dear Lord no!
A&A'smommy replied: WTG Hanna!!!
momof2girls replied: That is great !!!! You are lucky! I have to start taking away from Kiley she only uses at night, but if it falls out I can hear her looking for it, so I know its not going to be easy!!!!
she is sooo cute!
