coasterqueen replied: Wow! That's a whole lotta moola! Well, I appreciated clothes for Kylie at 1 yrs old for sure. My suggestion would be an outfit or two, a nice toy and give the rest in cash to go into a savings account or a savings bond.

jen replied:
That is a good idea with the savings bond!!! AS far as clothes, this kid has more clothes than she could possibly wear! LOL! Plus my bestfriend is a trust fund baby and pretty much set for life! so money isn't really needed..............LUCKY HER! cool.gif

I was thinking of a little kitchen but I can't find one and I think she may be too young for it. I just don't know! Then I thought about the Leap frog stuff??

coasterqueen replied:
Ah I see, wish my kid was a trust fund baby, lol. Hmm, let me think about it more and I'll get back to ya wink.gif

jen replied: wink.gif yeah me too!!! LOL!

Ok Thanks!!!

Boys r us replied: Definitely a savings bond or two and something fun for the birthday girl..a little kitchen woudl Rock..she'd Love that!

or....you could get a little barbie jeep for about 150..the motorized kind!!!

jen replied:
a barbie jeep!!! That would be awesome!!! laugh.gif Do you think that 1 is old enough!??!

kimberley replied: i think you had the right idea with the leap frog stuff. there are a lot of cute toys that you could get. i love educational toys for the kids and Jade is only 7mos and loves her leap frog toys!

ediep replied: I think a kitchen would be cool!!! My friends have 1 year old girls and they got kitckens for their birthdays....they really like it! Jason even likes it too when we go over to play

Boys r us replied: yeah, Jenn, they make the smaller ones for 1+

Jamison'smama replied: I love the kitchen idea!!! Another idea is an outdoor toy---Jamison LOVES her Little Tykes Jr. Slide and they make all kinds of things like that. A piece of jewelry that she can have later is nice--they make adorable baby bracelets.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Outdoor toys are very nice. We got Maddie a playhouse. wink.gif

paradisemommy replied: i say go with the outdoor stuff - or a little kitchen. i personally think that she is too young for a jeep. my parents really wanted to get taven one when he turned one but dh was against it and i (in hind sight) have to agree with him. when they are one they don't know how to steer the thing and aren't really good about pushing the pedal too (at least my ds wasn't)..i think she would really like a little slide - taven LOVES to slide!! wink.gif

Jamison'smama replied: With the slide, we are planning to get Jamison a little pool and we can put the slide so she slides right into the water--we also bring it in the house on awful days so she can get some large muscle activity---I do think it is one of the more versitile things.

Elle replied: I'd go with the kitchen or the outdoor toy. Brighton got a Little Tykes slide when he turned 1, and he loved it (he still does, and so do his older sisters) *lol*

jen replied: Thanks Everyone, these are great suggestions!!!! I am all OVER the net right now looking at stuff wink.gif

Dh and I are going to target and Walmart tonight to look at what they have!!! biggrin.gif

mckayleesmom replied: How about a sandbox and sand toys. I personally think that Mckaylee wouldn't know what to do with a jeep..she will be 1 next month...or the kitchen. I think its 2 young...Im saving the kitchen for when she is 2. The kitchen would just be a decoration in Mackys room right now cause she wouldn't comprehend what to do with it.

jen replied:
LOL! I was looking at all the little pieces that came with this kitchen and I KNOW she wouldn't know what to do with it!!! HA! Plus I think it says ages 3 and up! I think 2 would be a much better age! I totally agree!

I thought about the sandbox too that is a great idea!!! cool.gif

coasterqueen replied: Kylie got a kitchen right after Christmas, so she was 15 months old, and she LOVED/LOVES her kitchen. Once I showed her how to "pretend play" with the food and pots/pans she adores it. So I don't think it's too young at all.

Jamison'smama replied: Jamison started playing with a kitchen at about 15 months as well--when we started going to a play center--now she LOVES it. Even though it may seem a little old now, you want something that will grow with her and the kitchen will last for a long time. It also gives you and others things to add---a picnic table (which Jama loves) play food, dishes etc. I can't tell you how popular the kitchen is at this play center--and all the kids are 13-20 months old. Those months go by fast but I'm sure there are a lot of fun things out there I just didn't want you to think that babies won't play with it--maybe not at 12 months exactly but very soon afterwards--they love to open the doors and shove stuff in smile.gif

Good luck!

jen replied: Thanks! they have a really cute kitchen at Sams Wholesale Club! it is almost 200 dollars but it is really cute!!! I am going to see if my mom wants to get it with us! LOL! laugh.gif

MilMunchMOM replied: Check out One Step ahead!!! I love that roller coaster thing, I would have one of I had the room for it. LOL

kit kats mom replied: one step ahead also has a cool safety step thing. that baby will want to be up where the actin is soon.

MilMunchMOM replied: I am addicted to one step ahead...LOL

A&A'smommy replied: Clothes is a good idea, but I really wouldn't know. Good Luck with the birthday shopping that should be fun. What about looking around geofry (sorry about the spelling) or toysrus.

MommyToAshley replied: I think the kitchen is a great idea. Or, a big Doll house. My MIL has a doll house for Ashley that is three stories high, opens on the sides, etc. Ashley LOVES this doll house. SHe loves to put the dolls in the different rooms, and stuff them in the door. rolling_smile.gif Of course, right now she can only reach the first floor, but it is something she will grow into.

An outdoor playhouse is another great idea. I might get one for Ashley this summer, along with a pool. She has a little garden center that has a mailbox, flowers, birds.... it can be outside or brought inside and she calls it her house and loves to play in it.

Have fun shopping, and let us know what you get! smile.gif
