What time do you eat dinner?

I usually don't get started cooking til around 6:30 which means we don't eat til around 7:00-7:30 depending on what we're having. I think I may have to start trying to get it done earlier!!! By the time We eat, I do dishes and give the kids a bath it's around 9:00!!!!

If he wants dinner before he goes to work on his night shifts I have to start it around 3ish depending what it is I'm cooking

coasterqueen replied: Dh picks up the girls at 4:45 and starts dinner at 5. I get home about 5:15-5:30 and we are usually eating by 5:30 to 6 pm, depending on the girls mood, dh's mood and/or what he is cooking. I hate eating any later than that because we do bath time at 7 pm, bedtime at 7:30 pm. So we only get an hour of playtime. Although if we're behind or having way too much fun we'll extend time.

Kaitlin'smom replied: depends on the night I prefer to eat around 6 or 6:30 the lastest but on my work late nights its later, same with weekends it veries.

My2Boyz replied: We try to eat no later than 6:30. On the nights Jeff is working late or we have Tae Kwon Do, we eat without him no later than 6.

MomToMany replied: We TRY to eat at 5 pm. So, some days I'm cooking at 3 pm to get it all done. 6 pm is the latest. They boys go to bed at 7:30 (Logan a bit later) if it's a school day.

Boys r us replied: We usually eat by 5:30 or 6 every night. I love to cook, but most nights we eat out, I usually only cook maybe 2 nights a week lately! tanner is playing football and it's basically every night he has practice, so we usually grab dinner before or after practice.
I'll be glad when it's over b/c we're spending $50 bucks a night on dining out..talk about a waste!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I start dinner at 5 so I can have them fed, bathed, read to and in bed by 8-8:30

Before Maddie started school we were eating so late. Like at 8:30 That just wasn't working for me. Of course growing up we always ate late meals b/c my dad didn't get off work til 8:15.

This 5 o'clock thing works so much better for us. I'm glad I started cooking earlier.

ediep replied: we ususally eat about 6:30. Jason really isn't hungry before then most of time and if I tried to sit down for dinner any earlier he wouldn't eat

ions_momma replied: It just depends on what kind of a day it is for us. If we have alot to do, we might not eat until 8. I usually try to have dinner ready by 6 or 6:30 if we are home.

Our Lil' Family replied: I feed Thomas at 6, then bathe him at 6:30 and he's in bed at 7....so that's when we eat. Sometimes I don't start cooking until then but I usually try to have it ready for 7.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: USUALLY, we eat dinner around 5:45 - which is when DH comes back home with the kids. We usually get home around 4:40, which gives us plenty of time to start on dinner. (read - gives ME plenty of time... )

So dinner is usually ready for when the kids get home at 5:45 - but they`re not hungry lately, beacuse I think the sitter is giving them a late snack, just to spite me - I asked her to give them their snack no later than 3pm so that they`d eat for 6pm... and I KNOW that she's given it to them around 4:30pm, I caught her once when we picked up the kids early....

So we`ll play with them or whatever until they get hungry, which is usually around 7pm nowadays... so they eat, then it`s straight to bath, then they can watch a movie in their rooms by 7:30pm. They`re usually sleeping by 8:30 or 9pm though...and lately, instead of waking up at 6am, they`ve been waking up around 7 or 7:30am.

elvisfan replied: I usually start cooking around 4:30 and we eat between 5-5:30. We usually have the kids all bathed and ready for bed by 7pm although they don't start going until 8pm.
