What time do you take your trick or treaters out

I should get plenty of candy...oops I mean Hanna should get plenty of candy Anyways...I wanna be home by no later than 7:30, my show comes back on tonight - House! Plus I don't want to stay out when it's really dark, we have no sidewalks in our neighborhood
C&K*s Mommie replied: we are leaving for my school's trick or treating by 4:30. But kids start coming out in droves in our neighborhood around 5/5:30. Just before nightfall.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm taking the kids downtown from 4-6. Scotty should be home by 6 to walk around the neighborhood with us. If he weren't coming home early I'd call it a night at 6 b/c it will be dark They both have school in the morning.
Kaitlin'smom replied: ours is from 6-8pm. Since I work till 6pm DH is picking Kait up and they will pass out candy till I get home and then she will get ready and go out with one of us.
amynicole21 replied: Growing up, our rule was always that we could go out once it was dark. Last year we took the kids out at 6 and there was no one out trick or treating yet. We got some confused looks when we knocked on the doors, too.
coasterqueen replied: Dh gets off of work at 4:30 and by the time he picks the girls up it's almost 5 pm. I don't get off til 5 pm then don't get home til about 5:20 pm. My boss is pretty cool as he lives right down the road from me and has 3 little kids of his own, so I just told him today I was leaving a bit early today. I was afraid to ask since I was gone for 3 hours yesterday during work and then left at 4:30 for a funeral service, but he was cool about it.
So I will probably leave around 4:30/4:45. I already laid out the girls costumes so Kylie can start putting hers on before I get home and I can put on Megan's when I get home or DH can, whoever wants to. Then we'll head for FIL's, which is 30-40 minutes away. On the way there will grab dinner, so we probably won't get to FIL's til 6 pm. The town's trick or treating hours are 6 pm to 8 pm. They don't allow it before then or after the times, so it works out well. We'll probably t-o-t for an hour or less then go back to FIL's for a very brief moment to let step-MIL see them, then head home where we'll stop by my parents and other family member homes.
I bet we don't get home til 8:30 or 9 pm by the time the whole "show" is done. Then the girls will want to go through their candy, which they only get a few pieces, and then settle them down long enough to get them to bed.
I think these holidays are harder on the parents.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Ours goes from 5-8. Troy gets home at 4:30 so he is taking Tanner out for the first hour or so.
holley79 replied: When I get home I'll take Annika to the few neighbors that I will take her to.I get home around 530 and get her dressed. Probably closer to 6.
mckayleesmom replied: Same here...I will probably get them dressed around 5 and let them play outside and maybe go to the neighbors house until 6 when their daddy gets home to go trick or treating with us.
booey2 replied: Well we try to get the boys out by 6:30pm, last year when I was driving home there were kids already on the streets and it wasn't even dark - at 5:30pm. So today I too am leaving early in about 1 hour to get home and get them dressed and ready and fed before we go out.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Our town's is from 5-7. We will go right at 5:00 and Trick or Treat for an hour or so and then go grab something to eat at a local resturaunt.
luvbug00 replied: 6:30 to 8
Hillbilly Housewife replied: The kids were out of the house with dh at 5ish... they came back at 6 to dump their pillow cases... they were going to go back out, but instead we went to a family friend's house, who does this big elaborate set-up outside... we got home about 20 minutes ago, and now I'm at my mom's.
redchief replied: Trick-or-Treat is from 5p to 8p here. We don't take anyone out anymore... they're all too old. But Katie and her friend and friend's brother won a costume contest in Gettysburg, PA... She made the cutest cop. (pics in the Halloween pic thread).
Donna027 replied: Its usually around 5:30 or 6 at my neighborhood and usually last till about 9ish.
