What to do...
my2monkeyboys wrote: I have a 29-gal fish tank that is about to be empty. I'm just tired of dealing with it, so some fish are going into a smaller tank and some are going to my mom's tank. So, that leaves me with an empty tank. I kind of hate the idea of having to lug it to the storage building and finding a place for it there, but I don't want fish in it anymore. Any suggestions as to something else I can do with it? The only thing I will not do is put a snake in it... no snakes here, please. Thanks!

coasterqueen replied: Sell it on Craigs list if you don't want it?
moped replied: sell it!
kinsley'smomma replied: Depending on how heavy or clean it is, you can use it for clothing storage. For putting summer close in in the winter and vice vera
DVFlyer replied: How about a fake aquarium? Could be an ongoing art project. Use lego people or things like that.
A&A'smommy replied: I agree with the sell it part!!!! All its going to be is extra clutter
cameragirl21 replied: make a terrarium with Will, that way it's also educational.
my2monkeyboys replied: I definitely want to use it, and I wouldn't get much for it anyway bc it's a bit scratched up from the turtle that was in it (she's in our goldfish pond outside now). The more I think about it, the more I think I'll do a vivarium. It's part terrarium/part habitat for a critter. I'm thinking of firebelly toads. They have them at a store close by for $6-7 each, and 3-4 would fit great in there. Now to figure out how I want to design it.... I'm excited! This will be a great science project for Will to start the year off! Thanks for the help!
gr33n3y3z replied: How about a few lizards pretty easy to deal with and fun
my2monkeyboys replied: Oooh, I wonder what kind of lizard I could get. Do you think one or 2 lizards along with 2 of the toads would work? Thanks!
cameragirl21 replied: you would have to feed lizards live crickets, just fyi...not sure what frogs eat, also bugs, I think? If the crickets aren't all eaten at once then you will hear them chirping at night and that would be kind of cool, no?
my2monkeyboys replied: Ok, we got it all set-up! I'll post some pix later when I have more time, but just wanted to share with you what we ended up doing. We did a half land/half water kind of thing. The land has a few plants, some driftwood and large rocks. The other side has a shallow water container/filter with a log and rocks. The inhabitants are 3 firebelly toads and 1 long-tailed lizard. They all like the same humidity/temp, with the exception of the lizard also needing a basking light, so they should do well together. They are SUPER cool! And, yep, Jennifer, they eat crickets... and are AWESOME to watch go after them, too!! Will is really enjoying the whole thing so far. Thanks for the help - I'll post some pix soon!!
redchief replied: Good luck with it. I'm betting Lisa is wanting to come see it. LOL
