What to put on a sunburn?

MoonMama wrote: Guys I got a BAD sunburn last Saturday and I mean BAD! I worse sunscreen and stayed out of the sun as much as I could, but it didn't help. dry.gif The worst part of it is on my upper chest. Its been really red a painfull all week (I was putting some burn cooling gel on it and lotion). Then this morning when I woke it up, my whole upper chest was covered in blisters. Its so NASTY, they are full of clear liquid and itch like heck and they have gotten worse throughout the day. bawling.gif Anyone know anything I can put on it? It looks so bad, I'm embarrassed to go out at all like this blush.gif cool.gif and its so uncomfortable. bawling.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: 100% Aloe Gel and keep it in the fridge

lovemy2 replied:
DITTO - that is the best thing for burns and when its cold it feels really good thumb.gif thumb.gif

DillsMommy replied: I agree--Aloe. It will make it feel so much better.

mummy2girls replied: i agree aloe. i had a few second degree burns as a child and aloe was nice...

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Ouch! hug.gif Burt's Bees has an aloe lotion called After Sun Soother that I've always wanted to try. Maybe it will help more than just Aloe by itself. http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp...id=prod3946633#

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Bactine spray is awesome at taking the sting out and it is antibacterial. You can also soak a white towel in vinegar and lay it on the burn. It really does take some of the sting out and also has some antibacterial properties. Other than that LOTION,LOTION,LOTION! Preferably one that is for after sun. You are going to peel like a snake sad.gif

Teesa®© replied: Oh wow, I'm so sorry!!! Maybe it's time to switch sunscreens??

But yes, Aloe ALL the way wink.gif

Hope it heals quickly hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I will second aloe (not the sunburn gels...those all have alcohol in them) and calindula. there is a great gel that you can get at whole foods called calaflora gel. it took almost all of teh pain away in a day when I got a horrible burn last year. I was almost purple I was so burnt and that stuff worked great.

Calimama replied: I love Aloe!!! I had to use it this weekend. I used to NEVER burn. rolleyes.gif

paradisemommy replied: i second the vinegar - it opens up your pores and lets the "hot" out..

MoonMama replied: I've been putting 100% aloe gel on it all week too, but it doesn't seem to be working at all. dry.gif I'll try the Burt's Bee's stuff. thumb.gif Thanks guys.
