What was your fav Christmas present as a child?

I couldn't wait to adopt her. I never got expensive stuff ( and back then they were high dollar dolls) and my family put money together to buy her for me b/c my daddy couldn't afford her.

Every year my girls have gotten a cabbage patch, and the oldest is 14. She will prob get one until she says no more!

MommyToAshley replied: The one thing that stands out in my mind is the Barbies and Barbie Camper. I also had the Barbie Corvette. I remember playing with those for hours and hours. I even remember the neighbor boy (he was older and always picking on me) tried to take away my Barbie Camper. I picked it up and hit him on the head with it... he never picked on me again. Hmmmmm.... maybe that is why it is my favorite toy.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: When I was about 8 years old My little Pony and Charmkins were all the rage! That year for Christmas I got a Charmkins house (shown on the right) and My Little Pony beauty parler.

I got a great bunch of gifts when I was 9. The Grease album, a box of frilly curtians (from goodwill) for dress up and some wigs.

I probably spent the better part of two years being Sandra Dee, dressing up and singing along with the album in front of the mirror. LOL

When I was 12, we were living in Hawaii. I really missed the family gatherings that we had in the past where the entire family would gather at my grandparents house in Tennessee for a week or so to celebrate christmas. My mom suprised me with a flight to Tennessee to join everyone for the holidays. That's the last time we were all together.

Finally, when I was 14, we had suddenly moved over the summer from SanFrancisco to Florida and I really missed my friends. My mom sent me to SanFrancisco during the break after Christmas for a week. I stayed with some friends of hers and they were great about driving me around to say my proper goodbyes.

Kila replied: The one that I remember the most was the My Little Pony Palace that I got when I was about 8 y/o. I was really into My Little Ponies too. I don't know why I loved it so much b/c you couldn't fit more than one pony at a time in a room and they couldn't even use the furniture. I think I just liked putting all of the stickers on the walls and rearranging the furniture.

5littleladies replied: Mine was a Cabbage Patch Cornsilk kid. I was soo excited to get her. Unfortunately soon after Christmas I had head lice and my dolls and stuffed animals were all bagged up and sitting at the top of the stairs and my dad accidentally mistook it for garbage and threw it out with the trash. He felt terrible and bought me a new one though.

mummy2girls replied: commador 64..i think that is what it was called. A very old game system you set up to your tv. Its a keyboard with a joystick. the games were pretty cheezy. but i was 11 so for me it was so cool!!!!!! and also a cabbage patch doll. Mine was Melinda penelope(sp?)
