What's .62 cents worth to you?

kit_kats_mom wrote: We have been working on our budget this year and doing some comparison shopping. I made a spreadsheet with the grocery items we use the most and I've been working on entering the prices from Walmart, Sams, Publix and Super Target. So far I only have Walmart and Target's prices but guess what? Our list at Target is only .62 cents more than at walmart. That just made my day! I was really expecting to have to go to Walmart to save money but for .62 cents a week? Heck no! My sanity and sense of cleanliness need not be assaulted for that. laugh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I guess it woudl only make a difference if I was also spending way more in gas to get to Target than Walmart, and where I live the Target is closer than Walmart. So .62 woudl deffinatly be eaten in gas.

Cece00 replied: I never get out of Target cheaper than I do @ Walmart. Or for $.62 more. But if I could, I would.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: We've been doing the same thing. happy.gif

I'm so glad you can stick with Target!!! thumb.gif That's my preference as well. I don't hate Wal Mart. As a matter fact, our Wal Mart is so insanely clean for a Wal Mart and sometimes they have things Target doesn't have, but I do prefer Target.

amynicole21 replied: I would still shop at Target over Walmart if the difference was $20 a week. I DESPISE Walmart growl.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I would love to get our groceries at Target, but there are no Supper Targets here so I do find myself at Walmart. It's a fairly new Walmart and just down the road. I do tend to grab the small stuff from Target if I'm at work and need them. We have some groceries.

redplaydoh replied: growl.gif Ack! I miss Target like crazy! I'd even settle for a Wal-Mart... they do have Wal-Marts in Germany but they are NOT the same at all. Heck for .62 it wouldn't matter to me, just go where you prefer.

grapfruit replied: For grocery shopping I go to Krogers. I think they're only in the Midwest though. I'm not positive if it's cheaper then Wal-Mart, but I do know that I don't have the temptation to walk down the scrapbooking aisle and stuff. tongue.gif

Plus Kroger's is on my side of town, and parking is easier. I don't know what it is about that Wal-Mart but for some reason it feels like you're parking 2 miles from the door. Which is ok if you're just getting a few things, I don't mind walking, but hate having to push a overloaded cart past the crazy drivers. dry.gif

Oh, and no Target for MILES. I think the closest one is like 25 min away or something... happy.gif I think I've only been in Target twice, and once was in MI and it was DIRTY, and smelled bad...

Calimama replied:
Same here. I cant stand Walmart! I'll take Target over them anyday! wacko.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: I did a personal boycott of WalMart a few months ago and realized that while some things are cheaper at WM than Target, others aren't so it all basically washes out.
Yay for Target!!

coasterqueen replied:
My husband would say the same thing. We always go to Target now over Walmart. The only time we go to Walmart is if Target doesn't have it and we NEED it.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: We have no Targets here, I guess the equivalent would be Zellers? dunno.gif

And, we don't seem to have a filthiness factor... do your stores not have cleanup duty? lol

The Zellers is closer to my poace now that the Walmart built a new store across town. 62 cents doesn't bother me...

When my grandfather was alive, he'd do most of the grocery shopping... and he'd drive all over town for the best deals on stuff... used to drive me nuts because no matter how often and in how many ways I tried to explain it to him, he couldn't comprehend that just te fact that he was driving across town to get groceries that were like 10 cents cheaper actually cost him more to get because of the gas... rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

I have a grocery store across the street from me in any case. laugh.gif

jcc64 replied: Well, my feelings about Walmart have been well documented here, so I won't add any more. I avoid the place like the plague, despite the fact that the company for which I work is a vendor of Walmart's.
