What's on your school lists?

mckayleesmom wrote: I know some of them have to be rediculous. I love to read all the outrageous stuff they need.

Mckaylee's isn't bad at all and I just noticed earlier that half of the stuff is optional. I'm going to buy the whole list though because it really is measly compared to what I thought it would be.

Besides uniforms she needs the following:

* backpack
*one box of 8 large primary colors crayons
*2 boxes of small primary color crayons
*2 regular bottles of white glue
*bath size towel for naps
*2 boxes of kleenex
$10 dollars for fall field trips
$10 for spring field trips

OPTIONAL
2 boxes wet wipes
1 box gallon size zip lock bags
1 box quart size zip lock bags
1 bottle germ x

I thought maybe the list was small because it's kindergarten, but the rest of the grades are pretty similar.

oh and

gallon size zip lock baggies
pencil pouch NOT BOX
Hand sanitizer

there was a bunch of stuff on there

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Mackenzie is starting preschool and she needed:

Full size back pack
3 lg boxes of kleenex
1 box of 1 gallon freezer bags
1 package of cheap napkins

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I dont have the list but i can tell you what I remember from K

backpack
3 inch binder (memory books that get made of work throughout the year, they do them for every grade) not something the kid uses at all...ever
2 reams of copy paper
1 box crayola crayons
1 box crayola markers
1 box crayola colored pencils
2 black fine point sharpie markers
1 4 pack vis-a-vee overhead markers
2 packages Huggies baby wipes
1 box gallon sized ziploc baggies
1 bottle of hand sanitizer (they were brand specific...)
1 bottle of hand soap (for this too..)

i know there was some more but cant remember what off hand. I bought crayloa products since i agree those are better but everything else was target brand because I just dont care smile.gif

luvmykids replied: I haven't even looked yet blush.gif It makes me sad though that every year the teachers have to ask parents to provide things for the classroom that the school can't provide, like kleenex and clorox wipes growl.gif

sparkys2boys replied: WOW, our list's for the boys are HUGE compared to what I have read. It's WAy to many items to even type out. I think it's way over board and it always cost's me around $200.00 for just supplies for the class mad.gif mad.gif And I NEVER see half of it again but yet it still doesn't come home at the end of the year.. go figure

DillsMommy replied: Dylan's isn't bad:

3 single subject notebooks

12 glue sticks (That seems like A LOT of glues sticks, to me. blink.gif )

2 packs of pencils

1 box of crayons- 24 count or smaller

4 pocket folders

1 pair of scissors

2 boxes of tissues

1 package of pencil top erasers

A pencil box or pouch

a back pack large enough to hold any coat they will ever wear to school.

**teacher's wish list** (optional) baby wipes and paper towels.

I can't believe I'm already buying supplies.

I don't know what I'll do when he start real school, that's just for 2 day MDO!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I have no idea. I write a check at the end of every school year for $75 and the PTO buys the school supplies for the following year in bulk. It's on her desk at meet the teacher...we just have to unwrap it and put it where it belongs. thumb.gif

Ethan has everything he needs. We also pay his school a "supply fee."

jem0622 replied: For my 3rd grader: 5 folders with clips, 5 composition books, 2 erasable black pens, a pack of crayons, a pack of pencils, 2 packs of wide ruled paper, 1-1inch binder, and money for a recorder

For my kindergartener: Money for a notebook, and a backpack

For my preschoolers: 5 oz dixie cups, tissues, toilet paper, and paper towels

Teesa®© replied:
You're saying your children aren't allowed backpacks???? HOW are they to carry their things to and from school?!?!?!

Our children's lists are pretty much the same each year. I haven't bought anything yet, but I always pick stuff up throughout the year to keep stocked up. I may not have to buy anything this year, I'm not sure yet.

mckayleesmom replied:
That is alot of glue sticks....I hope that was a typo or else they better be building something huge with that glue. laugh.gif

bawoodsmall replied: Preschool for 4's
