When did you move

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: Your toddler from a highchair to a booster seat? I think the question has been asked before, but I'm wondering if it's time for Wil to make the switch. He sits perfectly fine in his highchair, but he LOVES sitting at the table with us! So I think it would be fun for him to move up to a booster. Do you think I should keep him in the highchair as long as possible, both for safety reasons and because if it's not broke, why fix it, kwim? Wesley won't need the highchair for awhile, so it's not like we need to move Wil for that reason. He's just so darn cute sitting with us up at the table... wub.gif

Just curious what ya'll did.

PrairieMom replied: We did it right away. I don't think he was even one yet. We went on vacation and bought a booster to bring along, it worked so well and didn't take up kitchen space that we just used that instead.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: we moved Katy into a booster when we moved into our new house, she had been going between h/c and regular chair for about 3 months (since we moved out of our house in CA) but went full time booster at about 20 months. Matt was a week or 2 later when we realized it was basically the same thing just taking up less kitchen space (which we don't have to spare) so he moved to the table too. I think he was 8 or 9 months

MommyToAshley replied: I kept Ashley in the high chair as long as she fit. I think she was around 2 when we moved her. I mostly did it for convenience and to contain the mess. She went right to a regular chair ... she didn't need a booster.

luvmykids replied: Right around 2. We liked having them at the table too, is your highchair adjustable in height? We lowered it and scooted it up to the table just like a regular chair. But they started wanting boosters anyway so we switched but even then the boosters didn't last long, they like sitting in big chairs all by themselves.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
My highchair does get lower, so I guess that's an idea! I may just pick a booster up at Target for the fun of it!

My2Beauties replied: Hanna is almost 2.5 and she still sits in her highchair, but at restaurants and stuff she sits at the table, she does good going back and forth. I am thinking about getting rid of her highchair, or putting it up now though because we have a small kitchen and it takes up so much room. I think whatever you choose to do is fine, I don't really know that there is a set age you should do it.

Brias3 replied: I'd say right around the time we moved, he was just shy of two then.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Rae, I've been thinking the same thing. I saw a booster that straps to the chair and has a belt, I may get that one to keep him from slipping out of it. I also think it's time to get a potty chair to get used to the idea. What are you thinking about that with Wil? Just have to ask as they are so close agewise.

3xsthefun replied: We bought Maegan a booster seat last year while we was on a camping trip, in July. So a few months before she turned 2. She done just fine and loved being in it.

kayla's mama replied: My parents bought us a booster seat for when we visit them and Kayla loves it. She used it around the 8 months, we didn't have any problems with it. I'm thinking about letting her use it here at our house because that darn highchair takes up so much room.

Jamison'smama replied: Jack is in one now---we moved him about a month ago (15 months old).
