Boys r us replied: I voted buried...I think that it's important for loved ones to have somewhere to come "visit you" once you're gone. I can't say how many times I've gone to see my grandfather, I know he's not there..but it gives me peace and ultimately that's what matters most to me! Heck I'll be dead and won't really care what anyone does with my bones..so I prefer whatever is easiest on my kids and my family...and in my head that's to be buried so that they can find peace through their sadness by coming to "talk" when they need to!

My parents have bought mausoleums(sp?) for themselves and i'm fine with that too. Just as long as I know where they'll be..lol!

you can still be buried and cremated if you want jess... I cremated Jordan and then had his ashes and Urn buried.. so i still have a place to go visit him...

PrairieMom replied: You can still be buried if you donate organs. You can even have an open casket. They just take parts that wont show and replace it with fillers of come sort, I think they use PVC pipe and some trpe of stuffing.

When I go i will donate, and hopefully they will take everything they can!

Yeah. My grandparents were both cremated, and we had them buried in the Veteran's Cemetary here in my town. They have a beautiful marble gravestone. Infact, we just left flowers there today.

But I just asked Andrew what he would want - and he said he wants a monument built in his honor - Something similar to the pyramids - however instead of Sandstone, he wants Marble with gold and platnium embellishments.

At which point I busted out laughing and began to wonder just who this crazy person is I married

They make some really good faux marble these days. You can guild it with gold tinsel and it would be almost just like a marble monument at a fraction of the cost!

Same here. I know I hate having to visit gravesites in order to pay my respects, I'd rather imagine someone I love in a better place (which they are).
