Where are you from originally? - And do you live there now?

BAC'sMom replied: I was born in Corpus Christi,Tx lived in the area till I was 6. In 1975 my family moved to Brazoria County (around Houston Tx.) where I lived till 1988; now I moved back down around Corpus Christi. I live on the same property that has been in my family since the late 30's and my children will be the 5th generation to live here.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I was born in N.TX...on the TX/OK border (the biggest, little town in Texas...Whiskey-ta Falls as we like to call it) I now live about 2.5 hrs south east of my hometown (in McKinney). Scotty, Maddie and I moved here 5 yrs ago. It's such a great little town, albeit it has grown tremendously in the past 5 years. We hope to never leave the area.

Aimee never heard it called Whiskey-ta Falls before. My mom was born and raised in Allen when it was sooooo small and still had farming in town. LOL

Jason and I were both born and raised in a super small town right smack in the middle of Texas. With Jason and I both working in the construction industry we have moved lots over the last 12 years but someday ~hopefully sooner than later ~we will build a home on the 70 acres we own in our hometown.

Cool that your mom lived in Allen. When we moved here 5 yrs ago most of the town was still farm land...seriously, it's amazing how much it has grown in 5 yrs. The apartment that we lived in when we first moved here was brand new, but out in the middle of nowhere. Now it is in the center of town, surrounded by shops and restaurants, new homes, etc. My parents didn't recognize it last time they were here.

coasterqueen replied: I was born and raised in central IL and am here now. We actually lived in a small town outside where we live now til I was about 2 then we moved "into town". Then when I was in 6th grade, my grandpa died, and we moved out to where he lived "outside town" and have been there ever since. Dh and I actually moved about a mile down the road from my parents and right across the road from where he grew up. Dh and I lived in Pontoon Beach, IL (down south) for one year and Edwardsville, IL for another year while in college.

I don't think we'll ever leave where we live now. Dh's plans are for us to live and die here. We strongly believe in our kids growing up in the same place and hope to do that.

Then moved to the Bronx, Ny (Co-Op City), then Hawaii where my Oma lived (we stayed there while mom and dad were in basic training) then moved to Germany where my little sister and brother were born (Frankfurt), Then Kentucky then spent a long time in Puerto Rico where most of the family live, then settled here in Ohio at the age of about 12. In between everyplace I mentioned there was Texax (San Antonio) and Pompano Beach, Fl and a few other states that we never stayed in long because of the military.

So...where am I from?
