Who has bunk beds - or loft style bunk?
moped wrote: I have been thinking that maybe when Jack gets a bigger bedroom we should buy him bunk beds - for a few reasons. Does anyone have them? DO you like them?
This is what i am thinking:

I like this one too and a bit cheaper, but not as nice

lisar replied: I had bunk beds as a kid me and my sister loved them. We used to build forts and all kinds of stuff on them.
stella6979 replied: As a kid, I always wished I could have bunkbeds, but I never got them. I love the one you picked out though.
lovemy2 replied: I really like the one from Sears but wonder how much more room it would take up - I want to get Olivia a bed with a trundle - she has a new bedroom set - but we didn't spend a ton of money on it figuring we would eventually get her something really nice - I think the trundle would be really cute for when she has sleepovers, etc.....
stella6979 replied: Oops, I only saw the first one, but I really like the second one too. I like that the bottom bed has the drawers underneath and for me, the cheaper the better.
moped replied: What is a trundle?
The room he is moving into is a good size and he only would have one dresser, so there is room. I don't think Tom will go for a fancy one.
kit_kats_mom replied: The one in Katherine's room is simular to the Sears one. We will move Lauren in there soon. K LOVES hers. It's not too high but they hang blankets over the side and hide under it. Currently it is a dog kennel with all of her stuffed animals residing under there with a pillow gate. LOL
Bamamom replied: Our son's is similar to the one from Sears and we like it alot. All bunk beds are hard to make up but with the L shape it is a LITTLE easier. It does take up alot of room but I think its worth it.
luvbug00 replied: we had one from IKEA. they cam apart when we got bigger and made 2 single beds. we had them from age 7 till NOW! we had the two singles one at my house mya broke that one last year. Brad has the other at his house.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We bought bunkbeds for the boys similar to the one in the second picture, just a bed on top of another bed with a ladder. We currently have one of the twin beds in storage until Wesley is ready, but Wil is using the other twin. So they can be used seperately (the balls on top of the bed posts come off and on). I really like the idea of the boys sharing a room eventually. I just read an article somewhere saying that it was healthy for siblings to share a room. This was our reason. But I think it's different if you have girl and boy, jmo.
moped replied: The purpose for the bunk beds aren't for my 2 children to share, just for Jack. I mean with cousins and stuff staying over it will be handy to have an yextra bed........
Each child will have their own room - I think my reason for that was because I always shared and never liked it!
lovemy2 replied: A trundle is where you have one regular bed and the other pulls out from underneath it....If I had any clue how to post a link on here I would find one on line for you and show you but since I don't guess you will have to google it yourself.....and I agree having an extra bed is nice -
3xsthefun replied: My girls have bunk beds and love them. The bunk beds they have are similar to the beds in the second picture.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Okay, that depends on the siblings, too. My sister and I didn't get along at all until we each had our own room. About 10 years of fights.
Cece00 replied: This is an example of what a trundle bed would look like.

moped replied: Those are pretty cool!!!!!
Cece00 replied: Yeah, I think the fact that you can have 2 beds, but hide one when you want, is very good.
A&A'smommy replied: not me but the first one is really cool!!
alice&arik replied: My fiance wanted to get Arik bunk beds, (and Arik wanted one too.) but I said no because Arik LOVES to jump and I knew he would be jumping off the top. For me it was just an accident waiting to happen.
This is what we got him, but we only paid $199 for it because of the sales!

Forgot to say that we might get him bunks when he is older, I love the first one you showed. I always wanted one like that!
luvmykids replied: Both of the girls have trundle beds.
Colt has bunkbeds similar to your second link, but his also has a slide to go down and the top has a little square of wood that you can put these fabric pieces over to make it a fort.
