Who here.....
sparkys2boys wrote: can type the proper way? I was just sitting here thinking about how much we post in here and got to wondering if you can type or have to look at the keys as you go..lol? I used to be able to type in highschool well but now not so good I honestly look at the keys alot because I can type much much faster this way. If I dont look at the keys its alot more errors So, who else looks
msoulz replied: I look at what I am typing but not at my fingers. Does that count as right??
sparkys2boys replied: ok you mean at the keys..lol??? I dont watch my fingers but more at the keys.. omg I think I just confused myself in my own post
msoulz replied: LOL, no it is me that is confusing - I look at the screen to see what I am typing but I can't look at my fingers or they keys because that confuses me! Except for numbers, I can't do those well without looking.
Edited to try to be less confusing!
Anthony275 replied: i can. i can type with proper grammar too but it looks weird if i post with it
Calimama replied: I can type the "proper" way. I learned in high school and used that skill a lot through out my first job.
sparkys2boys replied: So you type the right way then
msoulz replied: LOL, except I still don't type well - what they heck are "they keys"???
OH well, I do my best!!! And apparently right except for the typos!
A&A'smommy replied: I type the "proper" way
sparkys2boys replied: they keys... I knew exactly what you meant the whole time
Brias3 replied: I type the proper way and never have to look down. High school typing class is one thing that actually stuck with me I think! I'm pretty speedy at it too, which is good.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I know how to type without looking down. Learned in HS on an old typewriter....okay that dates me!
CantWait replied: I type the "proper" way!! And when I'm doing it consistently, like working, I do it well.
grandma replied: Back in, oh say 1965, there was a class called Type Writing, where we learned how to type (without looking at keys), on a manual typewriter. That's where I learned and it has served me well in every job I've had. Also, having worked in accounting for many years, I do 10 key by touch and that was self taught.
My DH hunts and pecks (as we use to call it) and it pains me to watch him...lol
MommyToAshley replied: I can type the proper way and not have to look at the keys if I am typing something that I am making up as I go. However, I do not do well if I look at soemthing that is type-written and have to retype it in.... I do end up looking at my keys. Not sure why that is?
Just a funny note, not many people can type on my keyboard. Many of the letters are worn off so some of the keys have no letters on them, especially A,W,S, and D keys (gamers will understand this one). I have bought newer keyboards, but none I like as much as this one so I always go back to it.
MommyToAshley replied: And, to toot DH's horn... he types very well and very fast... I think he can type faster than he can talk. But, I think that just comes from being a programmer. He's actually a pretty fast programmer too.
Crystalina replied: I type pretty good and pretty quick and only look at the screen. If I look down at my hands I start messing up for some reason. I've been typing since HS.
MommyToAshley replied: You know.. that's probably my problem. I need to look at what I am typing on the screen. If I look at the other sheet of paper that I am typing from, then I make mistakes.
luvmykids replied: Same here
grapfruit replied: I'm a VERY fast typer...or so I've been told I do not look at the key board at all. When I'm at work I can't even see my hands b/c they're in a drawer under the desk (where the key board is, it's like a pull out). I think the reason I type as fast as I do. (Almost as fast as if I'm talking slowly). Is b/c I spent 2 years working at a trucking company entering the bills of lading. I HAD to type fast.
redchief replied: I never took typing in school, but I type the proper way. I didn't think I'd need the skill, because when I was in high school computers were only for the geeks and I didn't think a plumber would need to learn how to type. With computerized billing that all changed and monthly billing would be a nightmare if I didn't know how to type properly.
A = Left turn W = Forward S = Backward D = Right turn
Depending on the game, something like that I didn't realize you were a gamer as well, Dee Dee.
Celestrina replied: For the most part I don't have to look, but for the numbers and lesser used symbols I have to take a peek. I took typing in high school and in secretarial school, but could never do the numbers without looking.
austins mom replied: I type without looking now. I use to look. But I have to type for my job so its just natural now.
kit_kats_mom replied: I bought Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing when I got my first computer and now I touch type about 70 cwpm. I also can do 10 key touch.
Anthony275 replied: i had that in 6th grade!!
mckayleesmom replied: I type the proper way and can type really fast.
Dh always makes fun of me because I can talk, type, watch tv ...etc...all at the same time.
