Who lurked before joining the board?

Shooter replied: Alrighty then...I already managed to screw something up my first full day in here. I "should have" voted that I, obviously if you read my intro post, lurked for awhile. I like to check out the feel of the members and how they interact with each other. How the mods and admin interact with the members...and if there are many problems surfacing over time. I was also not entirely sure about going somewhere else while I am still a mod at another site, but it's just creeping along and I felt as though I'd sat and waited long enough. I'm still there, but there isn't anything going on.

BTW...MommyToAshley, better watch out, my stepson is out your way right now. I just looked at your profile that says you are in Dayton. He is with my inlaws out there in Springboro right this moment. My BIL is also in Ohio, in Columbus.

MommyToAshley replied: Shooter... I wouldn't worry about being a mod someplace else. We have some people from the "other" PP that are still mods there. But, we are pretty casual and non-confrontational around here. And, we realize that people visit other boards besides ours, and we don't try to discourage that. We are just happy to get to know everyone, share ideas, and talk about our favorite subjects.

At least it has let up on the thunderstorms we have been having here! It stormed for almost two weeks...it's nice to see the sunshine today!

Shooter replied: Yes, I am in the St. Louis area, on the Illinois side to be exact. I have been out there several times in the past few years since I've been with my wife. We travel up that way probably a couple times a year. Her folks will be bringing Derek back down here in a couple weeks.

booey2 replied: Well since you asked, TLC DAD posted an invite on another board I am on so I decided to check it out and here I am, posting more here than I do over there anymore. I really like this place a heck of a lot more cause it is easier to navigate here and everyone is so friendly and helpful.

victoire2002 replied: I lurked for about a day, and then joined. I was on the ivillage board before this one, but membership just dropped off there due to reformatting. Everyone scattered from the Aug 2002 board, and now when I occasionally lurk there, it's really dead! This is a great board, and I really enjoy the company from all of you!
