Who still uses sippy cups?
alice&arik wrote: I was just curious if anyone was still using sippies. Arik still does. He was using regular cups until he realized how fun it is to dump it out and jump in it. Even if he has a sippy without the suction thing, he will tip it and watch it spill. He likes to make a mess I guess.
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley can use regular cups with no problem, but I still ues sippys often just to avoid the mess.... especially if we are going out.
paradisemommy replied: arik sounds like taven..i had put them all away and was using regular cups but he likes to reach inside the cup and grab the ice cubes and eat them then dump out the water and swing his arms/hands in it from side to side..he recently found the bag i put all his sippy cups in and is now back to drinking his water in them..fine by me!!!! saves me cleanup
mama3x replied: DD still uses sippy cups, she's not able to use a regular cup yet without almost drowning herself or choking! She's preemie so it'll be awhile more yet before she perfects her technique. Actually we just "graduated" her last month from the no-drip ones and the slow flow ones to regular/fast ones.
kit_kats_mom replied: K gets a regular cup for meals and snacks when we are in the kitchen. She totes a sippy with either water or juice around all day though.
Josie83 replied: Cassie uses a proper cup when she's sitting down to have a drink, but she insists on carton this flask thing around with her all day that's full of squash xx
coasterqueen replied: Well Kylie doesn't get a regular cup . She can barely use a cup with a straw while we are out let alone to let her have it at home. . This will be one thing that she'll "learn" late because I have no interest in giving her one at this point.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: We still do, Claudia hasn't quite figured out how to drink from a regular cup yet.
ediep replied: I wouldn't even try to give Jay a regular cup, he would dump it out so fast....He still figures out how to make a mess with a spill proof cup!
Mommybear replied: I use sippy cups throughout the day. The only times my lil one uses a cup is at lunch and dinner. Other than that both of them use sippys all day long.
Gatalita replied: I defantly use sippy cups w/ Zuriel. I think he is still alittle bit too younge not to use them. However, w/ help he loves drinking out of bottles (coke-like bottles) and reg. cups if one of us are holding them for him. (he just puts his hands on it as though he were feeding himself though. I just don't let him have control of the cup b/c I am just to paraniod. ) If he is determined enough sometimes he'll drink out of a straw if we hold them cup for him. For now, I'm sticking to the sippy cup.
kimberley replied: Jade is only 14mos, so it is definitely sippy's all the time. she loves to dump out her drink or put her hands in it
coasterqueen replied: That's definately my Kylie! She somehow manages always to get drops of something out of her sippy.
DansMom replied: Daniel's still a dumper, so we still use sippys. However, I give him a regular cup to drink out of at least once a day, supervised. He needs the practice!
Kaitlin'smom replied: we still do for the most part, Kaitlin LOVES reg cups she deos not dump them on pourpose instead she like to hold the milk in her mouth, 'chew it' and then spit it out thankfully its not all the time.
alice&arik replied: Well I am glad that Arik isn't the only one. I was worried about that. Some people are like "He still uses a sippy cup?!" But I would rather give it to him than have wet carpet. He loves having cups with straws at restaurants and if he spills he tries to clean it up. But not at home. He loves to drink water out of a water bottle, he doesn't like to drink it out of his sippper.
maestra replied: Jaci still uses sippys too, as she loves to dump and get all the ice cubes out. I would rather a clean carpet as well!
