Why do I put up with her!

HuskerMom wrote: My mom came over last night since Dh had to work. It was nice because I've been feeling kind of down since Dh went back to work. But sometimes things she says makes me so mad. We made the mistake of talking about politics. We totally disagree when it comes to politics. And everytime I give my opinion about something she says well you've just been brainwashed by Dh. Like I don't have a mind of my own and can come up with my opinion my self!
Then we started talking about cars. Dh and I have been planning to get a newer car since last year but we're saving enough money to buy one because we don't want a car payment. She asked what we were looking at and I said maybe a 2003 or 2004 Impala. And she says well at least get a 2004. I thought is there really much difference? Besides if all we can afford is a 2003 then that's what we'll get! Then she starts complaining about the car we have. It's a 98 Cavalier. She was saying how it doesn't run right and there's problems with it. There isn't! It runs great, the only thing I don't like about it is being a 2 door it's kind of snug in the backseat with 2 carseats. But to her since it's 10 years old and has over 100,000 miles then it's a piece of junk. I don't even want to get rid of it.
Sorry to vent, she just makes me so mad, thank you if you got all the way through that. smile.gif

Anthony275 replied: i dont know why she has to care about that, it's not going to affect her in any way

sparkys2boys replied: I think all moms do that at times. I am very closwe to mu mom but there is times that she drives me insane too..lol. When she starts doing that I just say uh huh.. yea... I see.. she gets the hint!

Teesa®© replied: Try having TWO mom's and a MIL!! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

I wonder what your mom would say to OUR car... it's an 89 New Yorker and it IS a piece of crap!! rolling_smile.gif

bawoodsmall replied: First off good for you for saving up so you dont have to do a car payment. Very smart. In this day and age you made a wise choice. I agree with you on your choice of car. We have a 2000 Pontiac Malibu and it runs just fine. That is the main point of a car...is to get you from point A to point B.

Parents drive us insane..

A&A'smommy replied: hug.gif hug.gif That would get on my nerves too!!!!!

HuskerMom replied:
I think that's part of their job. tongue.gif I just hope I'm not like that when I get to be her age.

HuskerMom replied:
Because that's just how she is. She doesn't understand when we do something differently than she would. She would just get a loan for a brand new car and go into debt. And I think to her if someone has a different opinion on politics then her then they're wrong. It's frustrating but I try to let alot of what she says go in one ear and out the other.

Celestrina replied:
My MIL is the same way. Recently my SIL moved in with her. My SIL prefers to do one load of laundry every day (she only does her own, not my MIL's). My MIL was complaining about this, saying how she likes to do three loads twice a week and that's the way it should be. All I could think was what difference does it make, as long as its getting done?

abunky replied: well , my mom is ok i guess , we dont talk much though....but my inlaws always have something to say about everything, i know you feel in a way hug.gif

MoonMama replied: hug.gif hug.gif

I agree! My dh and I are saving up money to pay cash for our next car as well. smile.gif
