Why, why, why
coasterqueen wrote: I don't believe this but I started getting the *why* questions this morning! I thought the *why* questions didn't start for quite a bit longer!
This morning Kylie was sitting at the table eating breakfast and like every morning I ask her a dozen times to get her feet off the table. For some reason she likes to prop her feet up on the table while sitting in her chair. Don't know who she learned that from. Anyways, I said "Kylie Elizabeth, please get your feet off the table". She just looked at me and then ignored me. So I said it again. She looked at me with this very confused look and said "Whhhhhy". I was a bit taken back because I don't think I've ever heard her say that word and then I replied "Because it's not proper to have your stinky feet on the table, booga." She continued to ignore me.
THEN we were getting ready to leave for the sitter and I told her it was time to get her jacket on. She looked at me and said "Whhhhhy". I said "because it is time to go see Miss Terri". And she came over and I put her jacket on.
Please, oh please tell me she is just "getting familar" with this new word and I've got a while before the *why* questions come.
jen replied: OH NO!!! She is going to get very very inquisitive!!! I can sense it!!!!! You might as well just start answering her questions now she will probably stop asking them when she is 16 and KNOWS EVERYTHING!!!! LOL!
booey2 replied: She does sound very inquisitive. Neither of my boys went thru this phase, but I still have time for Thomas to do this. Right now his latest phase is that he knows what Pull ups are and if he sees them he wants one one, so we put it on him. But he won't tell you if he has to go only after he has gone.
Kaitlin'smom replied: eeekkk guess you better eb prepaird to answer her! smart kid
DansMom replied: Something tells me you'll have your hands full for years to come
Kirstenmumof3 replied: That's cute! I think if I remember correctly my first was into the "WHY'S" at around this age. Maybe it's just a coincendence and she was just testing a new word.
coasterqueen replied: I can only cross my fingers and hope that's the case!
MilMunchMOM replied: oh boy!!! Sean started that early too sorry to say it but he has not stopped yet and he is going to be 5 in Apr.!!!!! WHY!!!! She sounds very smart!
paradisemommy replied: sorry to laugh but i can totally see her doing that. i'm not sure what's worse the "why" phase or what taven does..says "no" to everything...
kimberley replied: LOL poor mommy! i remember the days of "why" which were a replacement for the days of "no" hope she finds a new word soon
coasterqueen replied: Oh I must have the worst of both worlds, lol, because so far she still is pretty good at saying no, too!
MommyToAshley replied: What a smartie pants!! Poor Mommy if she is doing that already.
Ashley is in the "What's This" phase even if she knows exactly what it is! I am not sure which is worst... I think Why would be because it could go on and on and on.
coasterqueen replied: Oh trust me the "what's that or what's this" can get annoying too. Kylie has been doing that for quite a while now. You could be going to the bathroom and she will be in there pointing to every tiny thing in the bathroom and saying "what's that".
Just be lucky you are now going through it, lol. Kylie still asks that all the time. Sometimes it's a quick question and sometimes she will get on a roll and won't stop, lol.
mommytosammy replied: kylie, you are a smarty pants. Sammy is so inquisitive. Always asking, why, what questions.
you have to admit its fun to at the same time as being annoying.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: It sounds like she is a 'why girl'!! TeeHee! What a cutie! Maddie just started this...it's enough to make you go crazy at times!
A&A'smommy replied: LOLOL thats soo funny!!! She is SUCH a cutie!!!
CantWait replied: OHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I hate this stage Unfortunetly it doesn't end. Robbie is 8 and if it's not why??? It's a million questions about something else. Just keep telling yourself this is how they learn
