I think they probably know how Willie is - and I am sure they asked, do you have drugs in the vehicle - And I'm willing to bet he told them "yes, they are in XYZ location" they have to retrieve them.

They do make it sound like the did a random search of his vehicle, but I bet it was more of a retrieval of the drugs, rather than a toss and search.
