Wish us luck!
mammag wrote: Well, we are beginning half days homeschooling tomorrow. We haven't gotten all the materials so Conner can't start but we are getting the other two started to ease our way into it. We also haven't gotten all their computers yet so they have to use mine & Chris'.
I have my first homeschool meeting on Wednesday which I'm nervous about. I always get nervous meeting new people and worry what they will think of me....I'm crazy I know.
Anyway.... hopefully things will go smoothly for us!
mckayleesmom replied: Good Luck......Are you only teaching them certain subjects from home? and then they go to school the rest? Just wondering what you mean by half day homeschooling.
luvbug00 replied: GOOD LUCK!!!
mammag replied: Oh, I guess that was a litle confusing...
The official start date (we are using a virtual academy) is Sept. 6 so we can't count hours until then so I'm only starting them in Math, Language Arts, and History for this week and then I'll add in Science, Music, & Art the following week.
NummyMommy replied: I did that with my oldest son one year....it was set up through the school district but it was run by Treca digital academy (which kinda led to some confusion) but its a pretty neat set up. Best of luck to you
TANNER'S MOM replied: Good Luck in your homeschooling. I think this is a great decision for your family.

mammag replied: Quick update.... I'm sorry I haven't been on at all... I am pretty much swimming in text books and worksheets.
It went okay today, not wonderfully. Cade got through all of his lessons because he had the most of his materials shipped already. Kristen got through all but Language Arts but took forever with History which is only supposed to be 60mins/day. Conner didn't get to start at all because I just don't have enough of his to really get him going at all. It was a little more hectic because Keegan had a dr. appt. that I had to prepare for. Oh and he was a real challenge. He is really fascinated with their books and papers....we already had one crumpled assignment.
I found the hardest part was trying to juggle them because as soon as I'd get into teaching one a lesson the other would need me to help them or grade an assessment or something so I'm going to have to work out all the kinks before it is going really smoothly. We may be putting in some long days of alternating them until I get the feel of it all better.
I appreciated the well wishes from you all! I'm sorry I won't be in as much for a while but anytime I'm able, I'll pop in. I miss you all already.
Debbie replied: I wish you the best of luck! It sounds like you are doing a great job!
