With Daylight Savings - New bed time issues

luvmykids wrote: I remember last year we had a horrible time getting the kids to go to bed while it was still light out. Any tips, tricks or other masterful manipulations?

Bee_Kay replied: You can try shades or blinds that are labeled "room darkening".

(or just toss a dark sheet over the bedroom windows)

luvmykids replied: How do you get them in their darkened room in the first place? lol

Bee_Kay replied:
Hmmmm.... NyQuil?? LMBO!! Just kidding rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied:
Don't tell ... rolling_smile.gif

Last year they fell to pieces just having to out their jammies on while it was still light, this year we've got Macie in the mix too I think I'm in for it wacko.gif

Bee_Kay replied: LOL!

kimberley replied: lol @ nyquil! rolling_smile.gif

after supper, close all the blinds/drapes in the house (you can open them again once they are asleep), keep the lights low and do your routine of baths, brush teeth and stories and try not to stray from it. that way it still feels the same. if it doesn't help, get em up a bit earlier in the morning. good luck! hug.gif

Momof3inMe replied: I use to tell my boys that the sun was having a so much fun playing that he forgot to go to bed so lets see if we can fall asleep before the sun does. That worked and then they just got use to the bed time.

I hope we don'e have many problems with Em this year.

holley79 replied: Bribery rolling_smile.gif Just kidding. I have to trick my body into thinking that it is dark out during the day. I use window coverings that are labeled "Room Darkening". As for kids I have no clue. dunno.gif

luvmykids replied:
thumb.gif Thats a great idea! We'll give it a shot, thanks!

ediep replied: oh yea, we are going to the get room darkening blinds today....although I think jason's windows are a special order

Bee_Kay replied: Monica.... With daylight savings... I thought of you (and your children) last night , and then this morning smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: We have the same issues in the summer. Ashley's blinds block out the light, but it still doesn't help. We have a bedtime routine, but she still tends to go to be later in the summer. sleep.gif If you find a non-medicated answer laugh.gif , please let me know!

Bee_Kay replied:
LMAO!

Sometimes I read over the replies WAY too fast...

Looking over "We'll give it a shot".... somehow in my mind (before enough coffee) it somehow looked like "We'll give them a shot" and what first came to mind was, Jello Shots!!

LOL! I was like "Wow!"!

Anyways.... back to having some more coffee tongue.gif
