Words to live by - What are yours?

luvmykids wrote: There are many, but one I like a lot lately is a golf saying, "Hit it where it lies" which personally applies to life too. It means that your ball is where it is and no amount of groaning or wishing you'd done different will change it, you just have to hit it and make the best shot you can from there.

How about you?

kayla's mama replied: I try to live like this....

Live life likes theres no tomorrow...

MyLuvBugs replied: There's a couple for us:

"Success is not the key to happiness....Happiness is the key to success." (That's our main little creedo)

The other isn't really a saying just something we do b/c we're stubborn and have to be right all the time with each other. laugh.gif "Wanna make a bet!?!?!?" We like to dare each other and stuff. Yeah....we're dumb. lol laugh.gif

luvmykids replied: Another one I like is "The key to happiness is not in getting what you want, but wanting it once you get it."

C&K*s Mommie replied: Something my father always stressed to us. "Everyone has the same amount of time in a day, it is what you do with it that makes the difference" <<~~ I am guilty of that in a baaaddd way. sleep.gif

Also, he stressed "An excuse is what only you believe, a reason is what everyone else will believe".

C&K*s Mommie replied: I like that quote! smile.gif

ashtonsmama replied: Something I keep reminding myself of lately:

Every minute you're angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness.

That's always a good one.

Halo42101 replied: Hi, Monica. I really like your saying. smile.gif You're probably going to think this sounds goofy but back in Elementary School, I loved that song, "Don't worry, be happy!" I started saying that after as my motto, then tried to ditch it when I got to Jr. High but it seemed to keep coming back to me, even when I didn't mention to others that it was my motto at one time... so I got stuck with it.

DVFlyer replied: Not sure if this is a word to live by or a word I wish people lived by...

Accountability.

mom21kid2dogs replied: Exercise, eat right, DIE ANYWAY!!! tongue.gif I always loved that one! thumb.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: No matter how bad off you think you are there is always some one a little worse off than you

luvbug00 replied: Carpe Diam, Sieze the day

CantWait replied: Live, Love, Laugh.
Faith.
Dance like no one's watching.

siblingtoolivia replied: Live like you were dying

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile......

J-rod replied: ill try to edit mine...... blush.gif

Horray for Today and F*** Tomorrow.

good friend of mine said that...he passed away...so i try to keep it with me.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: If I had but two loaves of bread, I would sell one and buy hyacinths, for they would feed my soul.

This is from the Koran. I like it because it reminds me that while tangible things are nice and also necessary, intangible things like joy and peace are also important in life.

TheOaf66 replied: Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in awhile...you could miss it

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
Ferris Bueller!!! Rock on!

holley79 replied: "Don't live for the pursuit of happiness."

I love it.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Don't stress about the stuff you can't change, but change the things you can.

Pray, Pray, and Pray Again!

I can only please one person each day, and today doesn't look like your day, and tomorrow isn't looking so great either.

jcc64 replied: Almost every frequently visited pearl of wisdom in my family contains at least one expletive, but I'll try to self edit here:
S%&$ or get off the pot.

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: "If you want it done right, then you have to do it yourself"

luvmykids replied:
Love that! rolling_smile.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: Well for us.. when we have to do something we don't wanna do..or just face life..

We take a deep breath and say.."Slide and Ride Cowboy" and Turn and Burn!
Meaning get up on it and do it gets gonna take....

And the other one..is no matter what you spur the heck out of it. No matter what you give the best you have get to give.

From my Grandma..Pretty is as pretty does. And that is something I truly live by.. you know. You have to really be pretty inside and outside!

Boo&BugsMom replied: Awhile ago I taught all my daycare kids this chant:
"You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!".

Not too long ago my son said it to my hubby when he wanted a bigger bite of his brownie! "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit daddy!"! emlaugh.gif

luvmykids replied:
I'm always asking the kids something that sounds like that .... when they have a fit of whining about the movie I pick or something I say "Oh, good job. Did that put a different movie on?" or "Oh, good job, the TV is definitely on now!" rolleyes.gif

ashtonsmama replied:

jaytrevjax replied: Stop crying, or I'll give you something to cry about!!!! JUST KIDDING! I don't want anyone mad I said that, but seriously, my dad used to say that to us all the time when we were just whiny or crying for no reason, (o.k, so he was in a house with 5 daughters and a wife! He was a little out numbered, but he kept his cool pretty well!)

Just a couple of words, not really sayings:

Pish Posh-I say this to the boys when they are whining or trying to fill me full of BS.
C'est Le Vie-French for that's life-My grandma's favorite saying still reminds me of her!

redchief replied: My words to live by are my signature. smile.gif
