Work last night - KIDS!!
holley79 wrote: Last night I was going to try and get out of work around midnight or so instead of at 0200. Well it didn't happen. All you moms and dads out there, I'm sorry but I think I would have had to beat this child within an inch of her life:
We get a call from a very frantic parent. They stated they went to their daughter's room and she was no longer in there. (She was being punished for jumping on her bed.) It had been an hour since they had last seen her. They have looked everywhere and they can’t find her. She is no where to be found inside the room or in the immediate surrounding area.
We dispatch all available units to the area. They set up a search team. We contact the State Prison to see if we can borrow their bloodhounds and contact the next county over for air support. We have to check to see how many “registered” sex offenders are within 5 miles of this residence. We give all the locations and now they are having their doors knocked on and their houses walked though. (I’m sorry but for what these people did they have no privacy any longer. Not to mention we are able to make sure they are still residing at their said residence.) Air support in the area, deputies and bloodhounds on the ground. Well now we have more information from the parents. Apparently the aunt had been their while the girl was being punished. She was going to be heading back to Texas.
I look at everyone and said, “What are the odds the little girl stowed away in her Aunt’s vehicle because she is mad at her parents?”
We put out a BOLO for the vehicle and for the little girl. We are still looking for her because all the parents said there was no way she could be in the vehicle because it was packed to the hilt with stuff. HUMMM, kids can bury themselves under clothes RIGHT?!
Well about 2 hours after all this starts the father gets a call from the Aunt in Mississippi. The little girl popped her head up while she was driving and said ,”Uh oh I’m in big trouble now.” About gave the poor Aunt a heart attack.
So what could have been a very bad situation for us here in Northwest Florida didn’t turn out to be. I’m very glad that child was ok but still I think I would have had to ring her neck after I hugged her. Probably a good thing the little girl had two hours for her parents to go through all the emotions before they got their hands on her.
Aww the joys of parenting. I am OH SO looking forward to it. NOT!!!!! LOL.
moped replied: GOSH how scary that owuld be - she will be in HUGE trouble today - LOL, glad to hear she is ok though!
Insanemomof3 replied: OMG I would have been FURIOUS! How old was she???
holley79 replied: I guess I did forget to post how old she was. She was only 6 years old. I'm sure that being punished for jumping on the bed will be the least of her worries for a VERY long time.
mckayleesmom replied: YEP...I would be in prison for child abuse
amymom replied: Oh my goodness! My dd would have been in big trouble!!!
Boys r us replied: OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad that she is okay though!!
ammommy replied: Oh, I would be furious, too But, I have to ask...how did this girl get out of the house without any adult noticing? As soon as we realized that Alec could unlock doors, I put bells on them somewhere so that I could hear any escape attempts
Insanemomof3 replied: oooo bells are a good idea! I would never have thought of that, though I think i would do windows too with my kids LOL. They are sneaky.
PrairieMom replied: If my kid did that to me, he would be better off living with his Aunt. If she thought staying in her room was punishment, that would be NOTHING compared to what I would dish out for something like that!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: OH. MY. GOD.
I would have been LIVID!!!! (after they had to hospitalize me from heart failure) Could you imagine going in your kids room and them not being ANYWHERE?? How freakign scary!!!
redchief replied: Wow. Makes me glad I'm crazy about checking on my kids when I punish them. I feel terrible for the poor aunt! The little girl? Geez I don't know what I'd do.
gr33n3y3z replied: Wow I bet she wont do that any more I'm glad she is ok
holley79 replied: Well the parents and the aunt were outside on the back porch talking. The older sister who is 15 was in the parent's room.
I would be in prison when I got my hands on her also.
kimberley replied: my goodness! i am glad she was okay but i'd have a hard time containing my anger if was her mom.
the boys did something like this to me when they were little (about 2 and 3yo) though not as severe. Jacob was sent to his room for fighting with his brother. i went to finish putting away the laundry and heard the front door slam. james ran to me as i went to look and said "Jacob went outside". i immediately picked up James and ran out to get Jacob. he was nowhere to be found. after 10 minutes, i get hysterical and was about to phone the police in tears when i guess James' conscience kicked in and said "Jacob's hiding under the bed"
i nearly skinned him alive! LOL
My2Beauties replied: Holy cow, I would have been livid, not to mention in a psych ward by the time that 2 hours was up!
That little girl would learn the real definition of punishment once I got my hands on her!
