Would you be mad? - cleaning lady

luvmykids wrote: OK, I've had to reschedule the cleaning ladies twice now b/c I hadn't had a chance to get the house in good enough shape for them to come clean. Last time I talked to her I told her that, and she said don't worry, if it's as bad as you say I'll just charge you some extra for putting toys/laundry away. She talked me into an appointment today. Well I cleaned so much over the last 2 days that I didn't even really need her but didn't want to cancel again.

She showed up this morning while I was at my moms and Dh was here, he said she walked in, walked through the house and said she'd be back Friday!!!!!! I asked him if he thought the house was that bad, he said no, it hasn't looked this good in weeks, (ITA!) so I called her. She said, basically, that she only allows 2 hours for my house. I said why couldn't you have cleaned for 2 hours then, she said it looked like more and she didn't have the time!!!! Fine, but what about my 2 hours? I specifically saved stuff while I was cleaning for her to do just so I didn't stiff her after I'd rescheduled so much, and then she doesn't want to clean and get paid for 2 hours, she'd rather stiff me in hopes of making it take 3 hours KWIM?

Sorry that got long. blush.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I would get a new cleaning lady...she sounds like she is just going to clients that are messier and take longer so she can bank more.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yep, I'd be ticked off. growl.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I would be p'od too. mad.gif

Cleaning ladies... don't you just hate em?

The one that comes to mu house ONLY does the following:

wash counters, stovetop and kitchen sink
wash bathroom counters, sink, toiletbowl and bathtub
empties trash in bathroom and kitchen
sweeps the floors then washed them

She does not do our computer room, it's wayyy too junky. She also does not do the toyroom unless all the toys are picked up. She doesn't do the kitchen sink if there are dishes in it, or she moves the dishes - she won't clean them

Of course I can't really complain, we don't have to pay for it. tongue.gif

MamaJAM replied: Defiantely sounds like she's got an attitude problem. I'd look for another cleaning lady.

C&K*s Mommie replied: How dare she makes a quick walk through of your house and claims it is more messy than the 2hrs would allow! growl.gif Especially after you spent all day before breaking your back trying to clean it, and still give her something to do for the two hours she gets paid for.

I would move on and try to find a good deal like with her, but with someone else.

luvmykids replied: Yeah, I figured she could clean for 2 hours and whatever didn't get done, fine. Although I didn't even leave her that much, I could've finished myself but felt bad about rescheduling when she was probably counting on that money, KWIM?Whatever, I'm waiting on one right now to come give me an estimate.

I wish I could find one that would just come in and do whatever needs it that particular day, instead of a specific list like Rocky's.

5littleladies replied: Yep-I'd get a new one. You're the one paying her so doesn't that make you the boss?

Kaitlin'smom replied: I know someone who would do that but she lives way to far away. I woudl love to hire one but I think then I would clean to much and be wasting the money. Weird how that would work.

luvmykids replied:
Thats what happened this week, I cleaned so much getting ready for her to come clean that I could've just done it all myself.

jem0622 replied: I would be HOT! Get a new person. Really. That is very unprofessional!

aspenblue1 replied: I would definately find a new one.

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Here's an idea for you - put an add out for a high school student...they can come in after school everyday - if you have to do vaccuuming, they do it - dishes - thy do it - they come in on days that you schedule - and you give them tasks to do that day... if it's vaccuuming and laundry - then so be it... if it's picking up toys, fine... kwim? they come in and you tell them what needs to be done that day - set your price at the beginning... i'm sure a 15 or 16 year old would gladly do stuff like that for spare quick cash

C&K*s Mommie replied: Good idea, Rocky. thumb.gif
That could be a good fill-in until you find someone more permanent.

fashionmumofboys replied: I say get a new cleaning lady. That's so uncalled for what she did to you

BAC'sMom replied: I'd be HOT too. growl.gif

I have a question. But I don't want to make anyone mad! I understand picking a bit before the cleaning lady comes over. You know pick up the husband's drawers, make sure no important papers are out etc. But why clean the house before the cleaning lady comes to clean? I know lots of people that do this, I just don't get it!

Just asking!?!

mckayleesmom replied:
because you never want anyone to know how slobby your family really is..... rolling_smile.gif ...that would be my reason.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: She could have at least done her two hours and left after that. And then just told you guys that she couldn't finish it all at that time. I would be mad too! Can you find someone else?
