Either way, not all people from South Carolina are like that ... Hence, I am pretty well versed ... so I like to think

OH no doubt! Not all Kindergarten students are like that. She may have been nervous I'm sure but really, is she the best they had to represent the state? Or were they looking at her other assets?

Honestly I don't think she even remembered the question by about 1/2 way through. I think she somehow started thinking it was about South Africa or Iraq and then remembered at the ding that it was about OUR education system. Obviously they had prepared for much different questions.


I know this sounds horrible and I shouldn't say it but I have had this sad image of that poor girl locked in her room being made to watch that clip on a loop over and over.

It's going to haunt her for years to come. It's really not funny and I'm sure she was nervous (although being in the contest she was in you would think she'd be used to the pressure) but it's almost like watching a train wreck. You know it's going to be horrible and you don't want to watch but you can't look away.

MommyToAshley replied: I feel bad for her. It's apparent that she got there based on her appearance and not her verbal communication skills. But that doesn't make her a horrible person, and I still feel badly that she was publicly humiliated like that. Maybe I have sympathy for her because I have a fear of public speaking myself. But, I would never choose to put myself in a situation where I had to speak in front of cameras and people.

She still got 4th too! And I think Ann said to her "Have you asked yourself the question, if I wouldn't of fumbled that question might I of won?" Make her feel even better about it!




Speaking of Ann Curry, does anyone watch the Today show (beside me). She totally made a girl cry today!! (the "hiccup girl") It was by accident (asked her about meeting her biological dad), but she kept asking her questions about it instead of moving on to something else. I guess it messed up her line of questioning, but she totally bungled that ball. She's been doing that a lot lately, I'm actually ready for Merideth to come back (and I don't really like her either).

My2Beauties replied: I watched this the night it aired on TV and Brian and I looked at each other like this ....... I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't think any of their answers were all that bright!!
