This article is absolutely amazing... I can't believe that someone could be so incredibly, incredibly cruel...
stella6979 replied: I read this yesterday and was in tears. I think the so-called Mother should definitely be behind bars and it urks me to know she still has her other 2 kids with her.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: That broke my heart.
grapfruit replied: That's completely unbelievable...
My3LilMonkeys replied: That is just absolutely unspeakably terrible....but at least there was a happy ending for Dani.
BabyOwen427 replied: I can't believe they left her there when she was 4 in those same conditions. Imagine the progress she could have made if they started at 4 instead of 7. What a great story of rebirth for Dani. I can't believe anyone could keep their child locked in a closet forever. Makes me want to walk my neighborhood and reevaluate my neighbors.
Our Lil' Family replied: What a horrible story with a happy ending. She may never live on her own but she has parents that love her, that's worth more than anything!
jem0622 replied: That is so sad. I am glad she has ample food, shelter, and people who love her and have patience to help her to heal. The board that she is using to communicate sounds like what my friend's autistic daughter had the option to use...but she wants her to try other ways to communicate.
Kentuckychick replied: I totally agree! There was a little girl here in Lexington that was killed a year or so ago by her abusive parents. The number of times social services had been contacted in the years before and the number of neighbors who came out afterwards to say they suspected abuse... it was sickening.
I can't believe a child can go through something like that for so long and no one know about it...
sparkys2boys replied: I am at a loss for words on this one
Kirstenmumof3 replied: That's amazing and so sad all at the same time! That poor little girl! I'm glad she has found a good family!
A&A'smommy replied: I read this last night and just held my baby and cried I don't know how anyone could do that to a child!!!
mommymommy replied: It is very sad, but the happy ending is that now she will have a chance!
lisar replied: Probation are you f-ing kidding me. Seriously probation. that woman needs to be hung. Who can do that for so long and have no remorse. That just makes me so mad.
msoulz replied: I appreciate when folks write stuff like "may be hard for some to read" because I do not read those, and based on the responses, I am glad as it may cause nightmares. Thanks for the warning, whimps like me appreciate it.
But it does sound like the girl has a shot at a good life, and I hope that is true!!
My2Beauties replied: I almost didn't want to read this - how horrific. I don't understand how someone can do that to a child. I'm so thankful she found loving parents but she has had such a sad sad life
Danalana replied: Wow.
bawoodsmall replied: That poor baby. I am so glad that there are people who stepped up and took her in. They love her so much and at least she will feel love now.
