Wright Amendment -

I know they added 2 states last year and this year it is up even more. I know as of Saturday's paper - they have now added TN (and some others) to thier available fly lists.

I am so excited to have a cheap flight between Dallas and TN.

A flight attendent on Southwest told me about it a couple years back and they all had little pins on about the law...

mom2my2cuties replied: There are two major airports in Dallas - DFW Internation and Love Field.

DFW can fly ANYWHERE - and Love Field which houses Southwest Airlines can only fly to select states under the Wright Amendment - it was originally only Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisianna.

They did this to grow DFW (I believe) and now in the age of wanting cheaper flights - Love wants to be able to fly anywhere. I don't know - the whole thing was stupid and petty and done to increase profits at DFW which is the American Airlines Hub - I also think it was partly political.
