Yoga - Need some input
fashionmumofboys wrote: I am thinking of joining up a Yoga class which runs every Monday night from 7-8:30 and it starts up in mid-March. I have never taken it before, but would like to give it a shot.
Has anybody taken/take Yoga?
ammommy replied: Alec and I do yoga, but not consistantly. It's a wonderful way to stretch and relax. What kind of yoga is it?
fashionmumofboys replied: I have to check the paper tonight, but I think it only said YOGA and nothing else.
ammommy replied: I asked because there is one type of yoga that starts witha V, I think, that is done in a very warm room. Not for me It's probably not that since it wasn't specified. Enjoy the class. It's great for relaxation and posture.
C&K*s Mommie replied: oooohhhh... I wonder if it is the version of Yoga, where they put you in a hot room to do it. Although I heard it helps to burn a good amount of calories. I do not know about you, but I get nauseated when I get too warm, but it works for some people. Let us know how it goes.
fashionmumofboys replied: Oh warm room, would sound cozy, but then again when it's to warm it would be uncomfortable.
I truely think its the normal Yoga.
Will let you know how it goes.
mckayleesmom replied: Maybe you can buy a tape or check Fit tv and practice a little before the class starts.
fashionmumofboys replied:
I was thinking of doing that, or just browsing the internet and see maybe that way.
C&K*s Mommie replied: oh and I did Yoga at home, years ago. Loved it, loved it, loved it. At the end of it (it was a tape of Yoga), I was so very relaxed when they asked you to relax on the floor (mat)--- I would and I would fall into a deep sleep for 15mins or so. But I was refreshed afterwards!
fashionmumofboys replied: Nicole, it sounds so good. I think I'm going to sign up.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I do Yoga at home, and enjoy it a lot. Although I think a class would be nice - I never know if my form is good or not.
The yoga everyone is referring to is Bikram yoga. They would definately tell you if it was that. They make the room VERY warm (90 degrees or higher) so that you sweat a lot and clear out your pores.
MyLuvBugs replied: Yep. I LOVE yoga. Helps me keep my flexiblity, and muscle tone. The little I have anyway.
