booey2 replied: Good luck and I agree with the walking, the weekend before ds#2 was born my mom took me out for 4 hours of shopping and boy did it ever help put him in the right place. Mind you he was born 5 days later. The other old wives tale I have heard is to  rumble in the bed sheets , this can bring on labour.

Kaitlin'smom replied: If you can walk, walk, walk. I realy could not walk much the last part of my pregnancy. So my DH and I went to the mall on the 26th of December after i had gotten off work. He got me a wheel chair and pushed me around. i realy liked it. It was nice getting out and spending some time together. Well the next morning contractions started, 3-5 min appart. went to hospital they stopped. Was sent home. Took a nap and when I woke up my water broke! So back to Hospital I went. She was born the next morning!

dolfinrse replied: We just got back from the dr. I am 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced. He also said Zachary is 9 lbs. maybe a little more, and he suggested induction. So we are going tomorrow morning at 9 am to have our little bundle of joy. We are going to go walk around this afternoon, so maybe labor will come on it's own tonight. We'll see.

kit_kats_mom replied: I agree about the walking too! I went shopping at the mall on Sunday for baby clothes sales and my water broke at 4:26 am the next morning.

Make sure to ask for help if you need anything (including sleep!) or have any questions at the hospital-that's what the nurses are for!

dolfinrse replied: Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm still hoping to go into labor on my own tonight, you never know. I've tried everything else. Walking, eating pineapple, spicy food, but nothing has worked yet. I know that I will not sleep tonight knowing that tomorrow is such a big day. 
I'll make sure to let everyone know how it goes when I get a chance.

have sex!!! Ya, a little cumbersome at this point BUT....
the um.... semen has a natural prostoglandin and will help that cervix. Plus, an orgasm would really get things moving in that uterus. And nipple stimulation is a well known labor inducer.
Plus, think of your poor dh who knows for certain that after tomorrow it's going to be a while.
but, you dont have to let us know if you try it LOL

dolfinrse replied: Well, it's about 8:30 and we are getting ready to leave for the hospital. I was hoping for labor last night, but nothing.
I have been trying to get dh to have sex for several weeks now. He was afraid to hit the baby in the head even after the dr. said that doesn't happen. LOL
I will post the birth story as soon as I can.
